yes that sounds like all insurance companies.. years ago when my state got hit by a lot of hurricanes it was either state farm or all state they stopped writing home owners insurance down here bc of the money they paid out bc of the hurricanes if I was the state insurance agent for the state I would have told them you stop writing home owners policies and cancel home owners policies then you leave the state with your auto policies also.. they love you when they collect 10 plus years of payments but god forbid you have to use they look at you like a felon..
you take my money and then when I need you you leave me high and dry not me.. I wont do business with those types.. there was years down here in fla where the only place you could get insurance was thru the state bc of all the damage the hurricanes caused but how many years did they collect money and never paid out anything?????
down here if you get hit by a hurricane your deductible goes from 500.00 or 1000.00 which ever you sign up for to 3% of damage.. so if you have 40,000.00 worth of damage from a hurricane your part is 1200.00 not the 500.00 you signed up for.. its a racket down here if you ask me.. during a hurricane they don't pay for anything beside your house.. de-tached garage not covered.. fence not covered.. shed not covered.. those things are covered any other time of the year but during a hurricane your on your own..
