i am glad that charges have been ref over to curt martial. here is why you dont have a civilian lawyer rep you in a military court. one the charges that he has against him cannot be brought to a lower level courts martial because they all carry a jail term of 10 years or more. so if you read the courts martial man you will see that this isnt even possible because the max a convening authority can give at a special is 1 year confinement and a summary is 60 days. so that isnt even possible. both these charges will and should result in a dishonorable discharge and life in prison. here is the kicker with how the military works with the ucmj, the convening authority doesnt have to do dick with what the investigating officer says. he or she can toss a case out completely or take it to the max, it is their call and that individual can also completely toss out any conviction or punishment post trial. it is a funky system with how it works. i am currious to see if this piece of trash does a jury or judge only. he will lose regardless but that could make it interesting
