  • To me it's all about the kids...

Fuzo and I do a lot for our daughters friends, and we do so without condition. She has a couple friends that I know have a rough time at home. I have realized I am the Mom who gets called when something is needed. Fuzo tells me sometimes that I am being taken advantage of, but I don't feel that way. I am 100% doing it for the child not the parent.

I can feel like 10 on the pain scale, on a day, and hear:

"can my daughter come by your house cause I am sick" (meanwhile I am puking with a migraine and say "sure" send her over)

"can you bring her home cause I don't feel like going out" ( so I walk with the kids to get her home, in the rain)

"Can you pick her up for school so she doesn't have to walk in the cold"

" can you keep her cause I need a break"

believe me there is more, but I care about kids so much that I feel I need to help but NEVER at the expense of putting our daughter second.

I guess I should feel happy they come to me? I know it is my own fault but I don't divulge my health issues to people, plus Mom cant be down.

Then I have this Mom at one of her sports. She works full time and so does the Dad. They are not able to get the girl to practice in the summer because they work. This Mom tried to ask others for help and noone would, and then she asked me. I didn't even think twice and picked her up all summer and drove her home. Another mom said to me. Wow, that is so out of your way" .. My response was " So what is she to do, not be able tp practice? this is about the child and that's it". I think that made an impact on some other people there, cause guess what? More are helping each other out nowlol. This Mom I helped was truly grateful, that I could tell.

Point here is, do not blame children for what their parents do. As much as you may not want to lend a hand, if it is to help the child that should be enough, imo.

thanks for letting me let it out, lol. Now back to baking with the girls

that's how it is supposed to be baby1 and you would be considered an old schooler by today's standards. here is what i learned from being a platform instructor for a little bit. today's generation is about me and what you can do for me. so we had an accronym for getting them to pay attention and learn it was called wiifm. wiffum is how we would say it. if you can explain to them in the first 2 minutes what's in it for me, you will gain and keep their attention. the sad thing is the majority of our society lives and dies by this one little word breakdown even above their own children

Very interesting guns, and I do believe you are right. Some people so self absorbed in what "they" need that they overlook the important simple things that a child needs. I know I cant change the world about this but I can at least help who I can and hope it teaches someone something. The thing is I am empathetic to the parent of these kids BUT the kids are innocent here and they are not being thought of first.

i can relate a bit because of how selfish my sport is and how much time and consumes. i on the other hand am fortunate enough to have a mrs that takes care of their every whim. we have done without at times to take care of them when we were much younger and barely made any money. crap we have made very very long trips for me to compete and had to drive up and back because we couldnt afford to get a room. the kids always come first even if we have to suffer. that's the way it is supposed to be. funny now but mine will ask if i am on low or no carbs so they know not to get to crazy or mess with me.

LOL, that's great but I hope you realize that those long road trips are so very memorable for them? That is what we had to do when I was young too. Us 4 kids and my parents on many long camping road trips. Fuzo isn't big on long road trips so I am hoping someday we can do one. See how much they watch and realize? they are asking what your diet is like cause they know the mood. Kids no more than we think
