Fuzo and I do a lot for our daughters friends, and we do so without condition. She has a couple friends that I know have a rough time at home. I have realized I am the Mom who gets called when something is needed. Fuzo tells me sometimes that I am being taken advantage of, but I don't feel that way. I am 100% doing it for the child not the parent.
I can feel like 10 on the pain scale, on a day, and hear:
"can my daughter come by your house cause I am sick" (meanwhile I am puking with a migraine and say "sure" send her over)
"can you bring her home cause I don't feel like going out" ( so I walk with the kids to get her home, in the rain)
"Can you pick her up for school so she doesn't have to walk in the cold"
" can you keep her cause I need a break"
believe me there is more, but I care about kids so much that I feel I need to help but NEVER at the expense of putting our daughter second.
I guess I should feel happy they come to me? I know it is my own fault but I don't divulge my health issues to people, plus Mom cant be down
.
Then I have this Mom at one of her sports. She works full time and so does the Dad. They are not able to get the girl to practice in the summer because they work. This Mom tried to ask others for help and noone would, and then she asked me. I didn't even think twice and picked her up all summer and drove her home. Another mom said to me. Wow, that is so out of your way" .. My response was " So what is she to do, not be able tp practice? this is about the child and that's it". I think that made an impact on some other people there, cause guess what? More are helping each other out nowlol. This Mom I helped was truly grateful, that I could tell.
Point here is, do not blame children for what their parents do. As much as you may not want to lend a hand, if it is to help the child that should be enough, imo.
thanks for letting me let it out, lol. Now back to baking with the girls
