let's not forget that most cops are uneducated, and a lot of them these days are former military, with the shoot first mentality. but that doesn't mean we should have to ban phones.

Really? I sure hope you never need any police assistance since they wouldn't know what to do anyway...duh!!!. You are right, these are awesome phones and like I said when the first person gets hurt because they went to grab their phone when were told to "stop" then they will be banned
we should just ban everything, right? the confederate flag, toy guns, phones, etc. that is truly living in a free society, where everything is banned and everything you do is under a microscope.

haha, if you had one you would be asking for trouble. although Texas is not open carry but why have something that looks like a gun when you can carry the real item?
"SHIAT BIOTCH, thats a big ass!"

Anyone who would carry a phone like that is asking for trouble. In Vegas several years back we had a former Marine officer Iraq war veteran get shot to death by police in a Cosco for having a concealed weapon that a customer saw sticking out of his shirt in back of pants and reported to manager. The cops showed up and evacuated everyone, however the man with the gun did not realize someone reported him because nobody told him and he didn't realize the gun was visible. When he got to the doors he was halted by several (I believe 4) police officers and shot to death. So my thinking is why would you even want to possibly cause suspicion and or a panic somewhere that could lead to dire consequences.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington
I do not condone the use of, nor do I use anabolic or androgenic steroids. My participation on these boards is for informational purposes only. I have done extensive research of AAS and enjoy discussing them for role playing enjoyment.
To add to my last post, I have heard of cases of kids being shot for having toy guns that are mistaken by cops too. And you can't always blame the cops either, because it would be crazy to see someone grabbing what looks to be a real gun.

that's probably one of the most ignorant comments that i have ever saw in my life. you need to check your facts before posting up on police being uneducated first. so what they are prior military also, that gives them more experience in making critical split second decisions involving deadly force. contrary to your stupid liberal beliefs, even in the military when you have to use deadly force it is also investigated and if the use was unlawful then you go to jail. who was it we trained quite a bit with to learn how to positively identify threats? the police. shoot first mentality huh? i hate to call someone names but you sir are ignorant. how would you like to put on a uniform either military or le and have to go to work with the thought that you may have to make a split second decision to take someone's life? oh wait you believe that these services are not necessary because if we didnt have cops or the military and relied entirely on the gov we would have no war or crimes.
it isnt about banning cell phones but banning something that could be mistaken to save someone's life would be a good idea. but then again common sense goes a long way and having something on you that could be mistaken as a seriously threat is absolutely stupid.
you are welcome for your freedoms by the way and your ability to voice your opinions maybe you should spend some time in a va hospital to have a little more appreciation for those trigger happy shoot first mentality guys. you have no clue about anything involving the mindset or what it does to a person having to live with that thought

See this is a perfect example. Everything guns said about cops having to make split sec decisions and everything I absolutely agree with. And once again please don't misunderstand me I am not anti-cop I am totally Procop. But there are some idiot cops out there just like anywhere else. If this situation did indeed go down like you're explaining it and that's absolutely the fucking cops fault. A man should not get shot to death simply because he has a gun on him. And because it is showing. We have the fucking right in this country to carry weapons. Even if there's not an open carry law in Vegas The onus should be on the cop to do some positive identification of his target and determine the situation. I think comparing it to the split-second decision between him and a military guy is a bit different. If one of my guys downrange accidentally shot the wrong person I would go to bat for them in a heartbeat and not give it a second thought... they had to make a split second decision and it was their life or A potential shithead terrorists. Here if a cop does it it's a United States citizen and potentially someone's kid husband father whatever. That may sound harsh and cruel but that's absolutely how I feel about it. And again please don't misunderstand me. There may be times when a cop needs to shoot someone even if the guy does not have his weapon in his hand and it is simply showing. But again the situation determines that. And I do understand that there are more good cops and bad cops out there by a longshot. I guess I'm just saying that when we're talking about people getting shot simply because the phone looks a certain way or we talk about banning everything I'm just not for it.

My thoughts on this are NOT that an officer would shoot simply because they see this and think it is a gun. I am thinking that a person who has one of these is pulled over, approached by an officer, etc. Now any officer would be on guard if a person were to reach for anything but if they would see something that would look like a gun being reached for, than the result of that may be not so good. Should a person be shot at for having this? Absolutely not! Should they even be questioned? No. This is NOt something I would ever allow my daughter to have though.
