    Re: Coffee

My buddy did up a diet for me and the biggest sacrifice for me was no dairy so that meant black coffee. I love my coffee black throughout the day but my first cup has to be cream and sugar so I bought some grocery store brand fat free vanilla creamer, can't do hazelnut, too damn sweet for me but one cup of coffee with the fat free creamer and sugar and I'm good to go with black rest of day.

      Re: Coffee

I own a Gaggia espresso machine and use Lavazza Super Crema espresso whole beans. The beans and espresso maker produce a natural crema -- best coffee on Earth! The only thing I add is a small amount of extra virgin coconut oil and a little heavy whipping cream -- AMAZING! Although, occasionally, I do put in some grass-fed butter too.

The machine and coffee are from Italy. The machine runs around $1000-1500 but well worth the cost. The coffee is only $20-24 per 2 pound bag. In the long term, it's cheaper than buying coffee regularly at StarBucks or any other franchise coffee shop. As for the extra virgin coconut oil and heavy whipping cream -- no competition! I always have a surplus supply of both so I never run out!

It's pricey but worth every nickle. Sometime, you can find refurbished machines for $800-$900. The difference in the quality of coffee is night and day compared to Starbucks, etc... Now, the only time I go to Starbucks is when I'm traveling.

when i travel i grind my own and use the hotel coffee pot to brew it. quality beans make a huge difference. I LOVE COFFEE. no flavored creamers or sugar. just me and my black coffee. sometimes i add a little milk but want to try coconut oil. i hear its good for you and gives coffee a pleasurable mouth feel and palate texture as well as complement the flavor. I buy grade 1 sumatran coffee beans used to roast them myself but it was a chore and i was inconsistent.

got some yesterday. it accentuates the texture and flavor. coats the tongue with coffee flavor. can't really taste coconut.

for the peeps that love there coffee neat check this site out:

Explore the diverse world of Java. GoCoffeeGo is your ultimate destination for coffee subscriptions. Roasted to order & shipped directly from the roaster to you.

they have a list of specialty roasters that do weekly promotions, typically you will see a buy 2 or buy 3 get free shipping. thats a great deal considering some roasters may charge up to $10 for shipping. anywase, i have tried 2 different roasters from this site (bird rock & kuma), and the coffee is unbelievably amazingly different from what the local grocery stores carry or even your neighborhood starbucks. i have purchased single origin, micro lot, fair trade beans. im hooked, and am looking forward to trying more roasters.

honestly, starbucks doesnt even taste good anymore, and babe can attest to how much i raved about starbucks.

i brew my stuff fresh by grinding the coffee the day of and brewing it in a french press. this is actually a very cost efficient way to make your own coffee. french press can cost anywhere between $20 - $40, and i use a $15 small grinder by hamilton beach you can get at target. this method taste far better than brewing your coffee in a coffee machine, and am looking to buy next a chemex coffee maker to brew drip coffee (the best kind).
