lots of love for the 1911. anybody field strip a 1911? glock may be the fastest i know of. M&P easy most modern pistols very easy.

again love 1911s but too many downsides to be the BEST combat pistol. it is not which one you like best but which one is best

the take down and field strip of the 1911 sucks. you are going to have a hell of a hard time beating a glock for combat applications. i have used the 1911, the m9 and the glock. crawl around in the sand with a 1911 or a m9 and see what happens when you need to draw and fire it. glock, no issues whatsoever even though i would have never done those things wearing my personal firearm on my leg or hip lol. the 1911 is a touch more reliable but it still doesnt like sand and dirt very much

i have never had a glock or a 1911 ever lack in reliability. not one FTF, FTE ect. ever. i have never shot a cheap 1911. (unless you count my brother's EMP which is built like a 1911 and 9mm and compact so not really)

i do not own a glock right now. the glock 17 or 19 IMO would win this contest.
