  • full coverage car insurance

My jeep and my son's car are both paid off. My wife said we should just have liability to save $.

I said we should keep the full coverage as if an uninsured motorist hits us, we have an accident that is our fault (God forbid), ect.

there are 2-3 people in our city jail for no DL and FMFR (failure to maintain financial responsibility) and many times leaving the scene of an accident.

i do not want our cars to end up with $5000 damage or worse, totaled and not get 1 penny.

what is your take? keep the full coverage or drop to liability. about $150 a month difference (most of that is for our son)

Thanks, that is what I said. we live in an area with bunches of illegal aliens that drive even though they have no DL or insurance. get hit by one of these people and it totals one of our cars and we are out the $$$ and those people go on their merry way with their $1500 piece of shit totaled out, they will just get another and do it over again

I used too.. but my personal cars are all older than 15 years so as long as you have more than one your good. the wifes car is full coverage but its nice and fairly new. after 10 years old I don't care

yeah if your car is only worth 2X the yearly premium then i would probably get liability. my son's car is a 2010 buick (grandpa car) it is still worth over $10K so I will keep it
