I, again, told my daughter to NEVER allow such disrespect by words, or physically, from a boy/man ever. I also informed her that it isn't acceptable to do that to boys either. I know the kid is troubled, but if I just make excuses for others than so will she and we want her to respect herself starting at this young age. The teacher was informed, he forwarded it to the principle, and we talked to our daughter. I feel we have done what we should with this matter, and now it is in their hands. If that was my boy, he would remember not to says things like that again to a girl.
you are right baby. a boy saying that to a girl is different than 2 boys, it is a right of passage with boys to bust on each other but it is a weak person who picks on girls because they cannot hang with the rough boys. could be a prob later down the road. nip it in the bud.

i say sticks and stones............i know the kid is a little punk calling names but kids will have to deal with stuff like this later in life. if one does not respond to an insult and acts as if it had no effect, said bully will leave them alone.

i know it is hard not to react as we would kill for our kids if need be. but it's just a word. now if he got physical or continued to harass then for sure talk to the school folk.

i think we live in a society looking for anything to be offended. now what he said was offensive but remember when we were kids? bullys were just part of life and we were much stronger people. maybe this sounds calloused and it is not my kid so it is easy for me to say this. i would wait and see how it pans out and react only if necessary.

She talks to us daily about her school day and such so it is very important to keep that line of communication open. I just asked what you all would do but already knew what we were going to do. Was wondering if anyone would just blow this off? I think the so called "bullying" in this day can get a bit ridiculous as I still think kids will be kids, in a certain way, but this shit when words like that are used...makes me angry as hell. Thanks for all your feedback. I really appreciate it.

I could not blow it off. The boy needs to learn manners before he gets worse later in his life.

As a parent, if it were my kid that dropped that word I would want to know. Problem is most parents don't take accountability any more. So sad. I would bring the school in on this one.....

go to the school..you are her voice. I can't tell you how many times I've been to my son's school already this year. They hate when I go. usually the Mrs handles it. They actually told her that don't like it when I come cause all I do is yell and tell them what they dont want to hear. I won't tolerate any name calling or bullying. And if the wife doesn't feel satisfied with their response...ol zoot shows up and things get settled in a hurry

It honestly upset us more than it did here and I only think it is because she doesn't know everything about what that means. We raise her not to take anything verbal or physical from a man EVER so I surely don't want to just blow this off if this crap is starting with kids already...UGH

Hopefully the teacher yelled at his little but in front of the whole class. I never used that word till I was in mid 30's
