  • Ninja 1000 watt blender

I bought it yesterday at Kohls. It was $99. I threw some carrots and apples and celery in it and it made a mush. It was rough. Maybe Im not doing it right. lol...What are these things supposed to do? I kind of think its overkill and I could get the same use out of a $25 blender. Am I right?

What is's supposed to do is emulsify foods into liquid and mine does just that.I throw complete fruits and veggies in it,skin, seeds, stems and all and when im done there is very little paste left over.I mean VERY little if any most of the time.

Maybe you just didnt blend it long enough?
Thats probably what happened.Maybe I should actually read the instruction book. lol

I have a NutriBullet and I love it. There is a difference with these things as opposed to a cheap blender. Try not usin carrots. they make it a different texture and it is ick, lol. Did you put any liquid in with it? DO NOT put in wjole apples or pears cause the seed are not recommended to eat do to the cyanide that is produced from them in the intestines.

Ya, the carrots made it turn to mush, like you cant drink it, you had to almost chew on it. lol...I wonder if I should have just bought a nutribullit instead...what can you put in it Baby1?
Main thing is I want beet juice but maybe a juicer would be better for beets

              Re: Ninja 1000 watt blender

I made one of my first drinks with a carrot and dumped it,lol. The Ninja is fine. The problem with a juicer is you are losing some good nutrients and fiber in it. I say stick with the Ninja and experiment. Some of the things I use in mine are dry oats, frozen berries, pineapple, fresh pears, fresh spinach, I throw protein powder in there, almonds, almond butter, peanut butter, brazil nuts, I even have used frozen brussel sprouts in there, plain greek yogurt, 1/2 avocado make sit so yummy thick and creamy. I use mine everyday and throw whatever I feel like it in there. I like a thicker drink so I don't use a lot of liquid and cause I can add more if I need to. A thicker shake is more satiating anyway

I really haven't had a problem with mine leaving anything non-liquified.

As for what baby1 stated about the seeds though,I have to admit,I do add the WHOLE apple to it,seeds and all.Don't know about the cyanide thing from the seeds but im sure like anything, thats if you take too much? Not saying this doesn't happen sexy, you obviously know more than I in this regard, just saying that I feel to a smaller degree I feel its not going to harm you.JMO though.
Don't know about your Ninja but the Nutribullet clearly states not to use seeds of apple or pears. I don't want any extra bad things I don't need

Yes, I was wondering about that. The Ninja is square and those blades dont reach into the corners. It would be better if it was round like the nutribullit
