Anyone ever hear of a new weight loss drug called Contrave?
It was recently approved by the FDA and I have a family member who will be starting this as soon as it arrives at the pharmacy. While I don't think she should go this route, I will still support her with her choice and hope it works with minimal side effects.
Just interested to hear if anyone knows anyone who has used it. I have already done my research about it...of course,lol

Havent heard of it. I am cutting weight right now but going strictly cardio and OTC stuff like green tea. Some of these prescription drugs seem risky. They probably rush these things to the market and then hope nobody dies.

I will let you know if I hear of someone taking it. Hopefully its safe. I googled it and I would be a little nervous about it. Gotta weigh the risk vs benefits though.

A combo of an anti depressant and a drug to help people with their addictions. Sounds weird but who knows.
Not much really. I just started the green tea extract so I dont know if it will work or not. My all time favorite was ECA stack but now it is hard to find ephedra or ma huang. I cant believe they banned ma huang. I loved that stuff.

from what i read about the stuff or i could be wrong and another one is being released or just released but doesnt one of the things in this drug have some of the same side effects as phen phen did? maybe i am thinking of something different though. i would personally rather see someone make a little life style change and follow a macro plan before jumping on meds. only a couple ways to address weight loss with a pill: 1-mess with the brain and gut chems which is bad 2-speed which is also bad 3-dnp type mech where carbs cause body heat to rise and fat cells to burn and come apart. all bad bad news to me. i will keep my ear to the ground though and ask my wife to check with her boss about it

She has made life style changes and also struggles with Hashimotos( that went undiagnosed for 5 years) ,like I, this is my oldest sis I am speaking of. She is very frustrated and although she know my feeling on this, it is her choice and I am trying to support her. Having that thyroid issue as well as gone through menopause is just making it a bit more of a struggle. I know how to help her and I have tried, she has learned a lot from me but still wants to try this

man if that was the case for me i would try to get her to opt for one of the lap band deals instead since it isnt a discipline issue and its thyroid related. she wouldnt damage her heart and mess with any other hormones and brain chemicals with that bad boy. that may be something to consider and i have known a couple people that have had it done and have been doing great for over 5 + years with it.
