Hagel arrives in Afghanistan, says Bergdahl's life was in jeopardy
Hagel defended the Pentagon from criticism for not giving Congress a 30-day notice of the exchange of five detainees from the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in exchange for Bergdahl by saying that officials believed that the soldier's life was in danger.

um does anyone know how he was captured by the tban? he was pissed off about our policy so he walked off base that's how he was captured. i have zero sympathy for him and they should have let him rot in their custody. if you sign up for service and dont like it then do you time and get out. read the fine print on your freaking contract. when you sign said contract you waive all of your rights and by law you arent allowed to criticize the gov or the people that run it. dont believe me? the only right that you can legally exercise is your right to vote. that is it. i read my contract when i signed up many many years ago like you are supposed to. dont believe me then google that bad boy, i am pretty sure you can view a blank contract for service online

yep we sure did dzone and this is the first time in history this has ever happened. carter didnt do it during his admin because we dont negotiate. now what leg do we have to stand on? everyone traveling abroad is now at a much higher risk than ever before

The men had been held at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba since 2002 and were classed by the Pentagon as "high-risk" and "likely to pose a threat".
Two are also implicated in the murder of thousands of minority Shi'ite Muslims in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. military.
