        Ben Franklin had a good understanding of welfare too, even though there was no welfare system at that time. He said something along the lines of the best way help those in poverty is to make them uncomfortable in it.

          another good one I like. "govt is the problem, not the solution". I think it was something like that.
          he was a great talker, nice, respectful, thoughtful, a great guy all around. I just didn't like all his big govt policies, the massive govt spending, his tax increases and Nancy's war on drugs.

            I agree that he was good with words, extremely charismatic, and an all around good person at heart most likely. But like you, I also didn't like his expansion of big government, the very thing he set out to shrink.

                        The great thing about Ron Paul is that he is true to the science of economics and speaks the truth. Those are two qualities that possibly no politician in history has held, or at least not with such strict practice and vast knowledge.
