Ben Franklin had a good understanding of welfare too, even though there was no welfare system at that time. He said something along the lines of the best way help those in poverty is to make them uncomfortable in it.Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. he was a great talker, nice, respectful, thoughtful, a great guy all around. I just didn't like all his big govt policies, the massive govt spending, his tax increases and Nancy's war on drugs.Comment

I agree that he was good with words, extremely charismatic, and an all around good person at heart most likely. The great thing about Ron Paul is that he is true to the science of economics and speaks the truth.
