Re: Call to boost federal minimum wage earns mixed reviews

Those who favor minimum wage increases are completely ignorant of economics. If anyone is interested, the following link is to an old article on minimum wage written by one of the greatest economists in history, Murray Rothbard link.

Raising minimum wage increases prices on the market economy and increases unemployment. However, the main concern I have with unemployment is that it does not defend the right to work. If two people (employee and employer) agree to a wage in exchange for work then nobody should be able to prevent them from such an agreement. Working is voluntarily, and thus if people are willing to work for a low wage then it is fair. Conversely, if the wage wasn't fair then people would stop working for that wage and the employer would be forced to either raise the wage or go out of business. It's as simple as that but politicians don't get it, or at least those on the left don't get it.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

I do not condone the use of, nor do I use anabolic or androgenic steroids. My participation on these boards is for informational purposes only. I have done extensive research of AAS and enjoy discussing them for role playing enjoyment.

And the reason why we have inflation is because we have a fiat currency. Once the federal reserve was created in 1931 inflation started setting in, whereas in the past it was only during times of war. Then, Nixon closed the gold window in 1971 and inflation got significantly worse and hasn't stopped since. A 100% gold standard would nearly eliminate inflation, and a dollar backed by at least some gold would slow it down.
