    Man was designed to squat to crap...modern civilization has made us all sit down to crap instead of squat...sitting on a toilet is not natural. When you sit down to crap the puborectalis muscle kinks the rectum and you have to strain.Squatting is way more natural and results in less colon cancer, colitis, hemorrhoids, constipation, appendicitis, etc etc....I highly recommend. Have been squatting for a while now and its way healthier and no stomach ailments at all. I know it sounds crazy but it is true. Try it. Go outside with a shovel and a roll of toilet paper and tell me it doesnt feel 100% better to cop a squat to crap LOL..

    being a person that has done their share of crapping in the field, i will say that squatting is not the way to go if you weigh over 150lbs. your legs and feet go numb etc etc...... you would be amazed at the creativity that leathernecks and soldiers come up with to make dumping a more pleasant experience. it's even funnier to see it in the desert when their really isnt nothing to hide behind haha

        I like to put my feet up on a stool. That way I can watch my quads flex while I'm pinching one off.

                lol i feel ya brotha, did plenty of squatting in the field last week, i give this a try at home too

                    i will stick to a regular toilet. i have a horrible story about a cold ass day, deer hunting, insulated coveralls and trying to go in the woods. (have not been deer hunting since)

                        If squatting to crap is uncomfortable its the result of being inflexible and deconditioned for this type of movement. The article is accurate in that its a better way to crap. In fact, I've heard docs recommend it to people who have issues w constipation.

                        Here's a great story lol.
                        I climb mountains and altitude wreaks havoc on my intestines. So, not only do I have to crap all the time but you have to crap on a piece of paper and put it into a bag and carry it off the mountain w you. I've actually been stopped by rangers to check that everyone in the group was carrying poop bags.
                        Well one night we were climbing at 3 am to get an early start. It was about 10 degrees out and we were on about a 50 degree slope of ice and snow and I have to crap, like right then w no warning. It's not easy to crap while standing on a steep slope of ice w about a 1,000 ft fall below you. I had to have my buddy hold onto me while I carved out a small hole in the ice w my ice axe and crap into it. I had no choice but to crap right in the climbing path and only bury it by about 6 inches. Now, that's a sign of a good buddy!

                          Well Dzone... took your advice...
                          I just finished squating and pooping...
                          My gym membership was revoked and I was asked not to return...
                          Plus they gave me a bill for the clean up fees.
