i bought a CMMG M4 complete upper as i was not real sure how to measure head spacing, a stripped lower, buffer assembly and a timney drop in trigger (upgrade from stock) this was a few years ago and all together about $800.

it was easy to put together, to call it a build isnt really accurate. i just didnt maximize my parts as i was on a budget. (other than the comp trigger)

only tool you need is a buffer tube wrench. right now is a terrible time to buy. prices are 1.5-2X what they were. you used to could buy a DPMS for under $700 with tax and now they are $1200 if you can find one.

good luck. it would be a gamble but if one were to wait and this nonsense passes the prices will come down quickly as there will be a glut in the market after stocks come back

                        Re: AR15

I don't have an AR-15 just yet as I'm waiting for the prices to get back normal. I'm currently thinking about a new Colt 6920 and their prices are almost back to normal on gun broker.

I did recently pick up this AR pistol from my dad, which has only had two rounds shot through it since bought new in 2008. Once ammo is available again 1000rds at time, I'll take it to the range. Also show is my Gen4 10mm and the wife's Gen4 9mm.

9mm AR? and i have to ask.................why gold? dear sweet baby Jesus! and the glocks too! Are you a warlord in Uganda?

i had a 10mm glock 20, it was like shooting a snub barrel .357 mag.

                            Re: AR15

My dad was literally about to give that gun away to a dealer two months ago during the price spike so we worked out a trade that only my dad would approve of (he took a bath due to HIS OWN CHOOSING but then again, he doesn't need the money and was happy I'd keep the gun in the family).

It's one of those stubborn dad/son thing so I'm sure some of you can understand.

As far as the Glocks go they have their haters which I accept. That said, I own 5 which have had ~12,000 rds through them and I'd bet both my life and my wife's life on them. My wife is both proficient in Glock .40 and 9mm.

My dad has a G26 on his ankle and my Gen2 G22 .40 (what I traded for that AR pistol for) on his nightstand.
