    You may as well go to school, get a degree, and join em because this kinda crap is always going to happen. Besides, wouldn't you rather be the guy sitting in the newly furnished office telling the other guy he didn't get a raise than be the guy who didn't get a raise?

      Costs are out of control, health care, insurance, retirement benefits, workers comp.

      Until costs are fully contained with these items, which they eventually will, yet it will take a long while, costs will be driven down through compensation, ie, no raises, no 401k matches, paying more of health insurance etc.

      My best guess is that this trend of containing and bringing down compensation could last 3-5 years, and we are just in year one.
      Not a doom and gloomer type at all, just simple business stuff, been through it myself before, simple case of supply and demand, when labor supply is high prices will go down.

      For twenty years we had a booming growing economy due to demographics, international trade, and technology.

      It's time to digest and maintain those gains.

      In essence the whole economy will be on clomid for awhile.

      Do your best and take care of yourself and your family.

      Good Luck
      I agree, at the same time real-estate is going up. It's hurting the middle class big time. At one time a family could make it with one income now it takes two paychecks. Whats next? I guess they will have to send the kids off to work.

        talk about real estate going up... i had a new home built in dallas in 2000. it was approx 2200 sq ft for 180k. here in the land of silicone and honey, southern california, i'm having a hard time finding a FREAKING CONDO for under 200k!!!! my little bro bought a 3 bdrm condo in laguna niguel for 200k, it's worth about 220-230k now. the real estate here is going through the roof.

        i'm determined to have a home on the beach so i've resigned myself to the fact that i'm either gonna have to go into business for myself again or start selling a hell of a lot of chips!!! either way, i'm gonna have my home on the beach... there are just no two ways about it bros!!!

        spence will be waking up to the waves with his hot chick (as sooon as i get one, haha) next to him every morning!!!!

        :::Unbroken...forever
        ::: What sought to kill me, failed! I am Unbroken... now and forever.

          Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he is talking about a city gov't job, so your statement would not apply. He is dealing with typical gov't bullshit. So it should read the lazy get lazier. lol
