I need to cancel television...

WTF is this crap they push on us and who the **** thinks its television. I used to just download or netflix tv shows but a few months back comcast offered a better deal with TV for internet then without. I notice my kids get stuck on the Disney channel which in the past wasnt a bad thing but holy **** are they trying to make kids grow up too fast?
Then flipping through channels because nothing good was on(yea, all these damn channels and nothing good on) and some BS called toddlers and tiaras(i know its been around but I never actually seen it). Those parents need to be beat...and WTF is a honey boo boo. What happened to TV shows? Im thinking about canceling cable again. At least with netflix I can monitor and restrict what they watch.

I don't watchTV, no really I don't. I have a huge big screen but it only does blue-rays...no connected to any other source of waste of time!

I have an xbox 360 that had many miles over two years ago, havent really touched it yet. Now I pick up blu-rays and try my best to have time for family movie night. Last one was Dark knight rises.

I haven't paid for tv for about 6 years now lol. If I could PICK the few channels I wanted, even for say $5 a piece, than I'd do it. Now it's all torrents and streaming for me

TV disgusts me. Especially the alcohol and drug commercials. I never watch TV except for football games. Thats it. I would rather interact with a computer than to sit mindlessly in front of a tv

We have thought about doing the same. I was going to get an antenna to pick up the over the air channels for our local. We are getting my step son an xbox for christmas, so we may just start streaming as well. We have directv now and the only reason I haven't done it yet is because we have a pretty cheap plan (comparatively speaking) that was grandfathered in.

I hate tv too only reason we have it is for gf and kids. I try to tell her to download more but its a lost cause.

I agree TV jus sucks nowadays but I live very alone and it helps to hear someone talking. All day long there is really nothing but a zillion shopping channels and repetitive bulls#it day after day, cept maby one program or sports once a day. I was watching that ol' show "Kung Fu" from back in the day on youtube the otherday and it reminded me of the cool stuff that would be on, I mean it seems like,..I dunno, like things really meant something ya know ? I'ts true everything you see on tv nowadays is jus silly and made up bulls#it, like people just got lazy and gave up on ideas. But I suppose thats the kind of thing that intrests us ? I'll admit, I watch some of those dums#it shows just to get myself pissed off and make myself feel better. But geez what a big waste of cash every month to just to have the privlege to see a damn game or something maby a coupla times a week maby huh ?

I can't stand the shows on tv now days. It's funny when you think about how uncreative our society has become. As I channel surf sometimes I still see re-runs of 'Friends'. Seriously? Our society is so uncreative we can't replace a show that was cancelled over a decade ago? Sad.

this is a good thread! And I agree with you all TV is a complete waste. we have internet and thats it. matter of fact I hooked my big screen up to the computer for netflix and other movies. surfing the net and some pc games every now and again.

I couldnt agree with you more brother.Its amazing at what is considered a good show today.The real problem is you have nuts out there following these crappy shows religously.

As OfficeFarva stated,it would be great if you could pick 7 pay for what channels you wanted instead of having tons of crap that you never even watch! There are so many of the same shows on multiple channels too so its not even worth having them.
