He is headed to Georgie in March. He has ALWAYS said he wanted to be a Marine sice he was a small kid, but he made the choice to go into the ARMY Infantry. I really think this was a good direction for hime to go in as it is something he has said he always wanted. I sure hoep you likes it though?

that's where i went was ft benning for infantry/OSUT then parachute school then RIP (ranger indoctrination program)...i hated infantry...i was only 135lbs back then and running/ruck marching all the damn time yet had to carry the same weight of equipment in my rucksack as everyone else...so basically i had to work alot harder pound for pound than everyone else...but i sure did miss it all shortly after i got out...mostly the comeraderie... -

We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. I'm retired Air Force and feel that supporting our men and women in the armed forces is so important.Comment

man, good on him for serving his country but i sure wish he would choose something better as far as mos goes. it is so much better to get training and experience in a field that you can use once you get out. take it from me. i did infantry and almost every sub mos under the infantry over my career. loved every minute of it for the most part but if i could offer anyone the advice joining i would say do something with computers or communication.
my advice for anyone thinking of joining the marine corps is: if you want to do the most with the least then join the marines. if you want to live nice and get all the training and then some join the other branches of service. that is a very sad and true fact

it's the fine pixels on computers and smart phones changing your eyesight...i look away from mine to the tv screen and can't read the writing for football scores or ticker tape on tvComment
