Bingo! the thing is Kai will never have those naturally flowing lines Phil has. Bodybuilding is all about the whole body and how it all comes together, balance and symmetry and unfortunately for Kai he will never have either.

well if you want to get picky about that, phil is narrow in the clavicles and he is one of the few in the sport ever to have arms that vastly over power his shoulders and chest, maybe even traps. his chest is hollow also due to his narrow clavicles. both of those guys have flaws and their is no way to dispute it and if you went off of the way that it is supposed to be then you would have someone like dennis wolf taking the top spot. phil was off from last year and made minimum improvements and if you want to go off of conditioning and streamlining a better package then kai should get the nod. it is a opinion based sport but still we all know how it works out 99% of the time and it generates more interest this way.

Imho if interest was the driving force behind the outcome Kai should have got the win. Better to have a different guy at the top then the same guy over and over. There is now way Phil's arms over power his shoulders, maybe in the past. Yes he has his flaws but still doesnt take away the fact he is more aesthetically pleasing then Kai. Kai brought his a game no doubt about it but, it was not enough simply because his body type will not allow it to be.

it's like comparing apples to oranges. if we were to go off of the way it is supposed to be then you would see guys like toney freeman or dennis wolf taking the top titles. they have the true x frame that combines the whole package by scoring standards, but then on the other hand never make their marks and they cant compete with phil and the other guys with superior mass. that is what sucks about this sport, you have a different opinion than i do and so do the judges. i strongly disagree with you on his arms not being over powering cause they still are monsterously freaky compared to his shoulders but again it is your opinion and mine. i personally like the mass monsters myself

Yes most like the freak factor that goes with the mass monster, there is a reason why Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates were so domiante.

haha agreed and they for damn sure didnt have a appealing physique by any scoring standard for an x frame. honestly the last one close to it recently would prob have to be lee haney

Agree Dorian was the begining of the mass monster era. The sport is trying to take a step back which is why Kai will not win. Its going to take a guy like Shawn Rhoden to beat Phil, which i think he can if he puts on a few more lbs.

i like different winners, not the same ones yr after yr after yr. but then again i like the bodybuilders of older like dorian, kevin, franco, vic richards, ronnie, all the big guys for some reason or small guys that are hugh. i dont like this new look , but its only my opinion.
