Wife told me on Friday she wanted a headboard for our king size bed. So a trip to Home Depot to purchase needed materials, and a day later she got one. Ha ha! Everything came out to about $75, and I finished everything on Saturday. Just waiting to put the second coat of clear on and then it's completely done. Probably stay outside a few days to fume out before we bring it in the house. But if the headboard is a rocking, don't come a knocking! LOL!

Re: Wife Wanted a Headboard
Thanks man! What does she think, she let me sit on my butt all day yesterday and watch football lol! She must have been pretty happy for her to let me do that, especially with a new born in the house ha ha.Originally posted by mtnmedic View PostYou're too cool brah ! I know! I told her to go look online and pick out one that she likes the look of and I'll make it for her. I'm just glad she didn't pick one out with doors, that would have added another day just doing that. All the ones on the web were made with that cheap ol' particle board stuff, and nothing bigger then a 1x, and cost 2 arms and 2 legs! This will last us for a very long time. Plus I made it so I can easily break it down when we have to move for our next assignment.Originally posted by guns01 View Postawesome job man and you saved about 925 bones on that

Re: Wife Wanted a Headboard
Ha ha, yeah. I've built lots of things for her, most recently some cabinets for her bathroom and this. She gets pretty spoiled though, because she'll just cut a picture out or show me it and ask me to make it. I even make some things for the kids when I'm bored. I made a bunny hutch for the kids when my wife really wanted a bunny, and even a pretty fancy sand box. Its fun to do. What really get's me going is trying to break down the picture in my head and see what you can't see in the picture to make everything work...Originally posted by baby1 View PostPretty handy you are EZ? Looks great! he will want something else next so get ready, lol
Just put baby down for her nap so I need to put on the second coat of clear before the boy gets off the bus from school, more importantly...have it finished finished when the wife gets home tonight from work.Attached FilesLast edited by Ezskanken; 09-24-2012, 02:38 PM.
