Long story short i basically went cold turkey on the other forum and decided to check back today. I just read of the sad news of GMO taking his life. Utterly terrible news. I hope his kids are okay.

GMO was a very dear friend, he left a wife although estranged and two little girls who were the love of his life. He chose to take his own life, no one can ever understand why or judge especially me as at a time in my life I thought of doing the same thing.
Pray for his girls, his wife and for him to rest in peace.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't know of him but I'm sure he was a great person.Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

I agree no one can judge because we don't know what he was going through. And maybe my opinion is harsh but he was being selfish in taking he's own life. Leaving beautiful children behind is horrible and no matter what someone is going through ,their first thoughts should be of their children and what they will go through without them in their lives. I tried doing that once, but after waking up in the hospital and seeing my daughter crying and scared made me realize how much harm I was doing to her for wanting to end what I called "suffering".. Watching her killed me more then actually trying to hurt myself.

Re: News of GMO saddens me.
When my first wife died, I seriously wanted to take my own life. I spent a year drinking to extreme excess, not caring if I lived or died. I had so many antidepressant drugs from my doctor, to take my own life would have been as easy as going to sleep.
In GMO's case, there was enough going on that he did not see anything to stop himself from doing what he did. Question the act, but don't judge the man. None of us were there or know all that went on. Just know he was a friend and he is missed.
Glenn, rest in peace my friend. I hope God is caring for you now and has eased your pain.
