    Congressional lawmakers are taking to their Capitol Hill podium to keep the federal government from taxing medal-winning U.S. Olympians, with the chairman of the GOP-led tax writing committee among the latest to join the bipartisan effort.

      Its taxes on a 500.00 medal, if they win gold. Bronze would be taxes on a 2.00 medal.

        The only people who deserve tax free are the military members who are currently deployed.

          i just learned the other day that it isnt just a tax on the medal but they also receive a cash prize for each place as well

                    They are tax free when deployed. As long as you are in the foreign country for one day of a month you get the entire month tax free. At least that's how it was when I was deployed active-duty. We always tried to leave as close to the 1st of the month as possible if we could help it to get another month tax free.
