I just put the chicken straight in. Be sure it's on low for about 6-8 hours. I do 5lbs at a time. When it's done I put 2 or 3 packages of seasoning, like grilling mates mesquite flavor, in and use 2 forks to shred the crap out of it. Let it sit a little longer, you can add water If you want. I try to keep it without added water till I weigh my portion then add a little before reheating. It's way easier to eat. I actually prefer it this way instead of grilled now. You can put just about any seasoning you want in it.

For sure.. I'm not prepping.. but still cutting pretty aggressively.. so I'm basically all Chicken or Orange Roughy.. Flounder here and there. I'll have beef maybe 1-2 per month.
