  • Tumor cut out

Living here on the Gulf Coast of Texas, we are always in Summer mode it seems. Plus with me fishing all the time out in my boat shirtless and not wearing sunscreen like my wife tells me I get this little bump.

It was located on the top of my left trap. I kinda ignored it for about 3 months as it grew larger. It would sting a lot at times and my bunker gear suspenders would sit right on it when I had to fight a fire.

So I finally went to the doctor to get it cut out. The first pic of it, what you see is about the size of a dime in diameter.

The second pic is with the six stitches I got out of the procedure. I sure had either taken a pic of the tumor when he held it up in front of me or at least videoed the procedure.

When he pulled it out, it was the size of a ping pong ball. I got the wife to pull the stitches a few days ago as they were driving me crazy. Now I have a small depression in my trap. lol

I forgot to call the Dr to see if it was benign and will do that Monday.

Will be wearing sunscreen out on the boat more often now. lol

WOW!!! Fuzo has some removed a couple of years ago and it was basal cell cancer (the most common form of skin cancer)> I hope it is nothing serious for you. Keep us posted.

Yea, that is what the Dr called it, Basal Cell Cancer. Now gotta find out if it was benign or not.

Basal cell cancer is "cancer" so it is not benign.

Gonna have to get with him tomorrow ASAP to make sure he knew what he was saying and to see the results. Hopefully he meant it looked like it.

Yes the pathology result will confirm exactly what it is.

It was Basal Cell Cancer, but it was margin free and no more treatment is necessary. He sent the report to my regular Dr.

Skin cancer can be real nasty...glad you had it taken care of.

A co-worker of mine goes to the dermatologist 3-4 times a year to get looked at. comes to work the next day with bandaides on his head and arms. He is older but when growing up spent many summers at the Jersey shore.

Oh man, good thing you got it taken care of bro and youre done with treatment.
I spend a lot of time in the sun with no sunscreen. Usually put a shirt on after an hour or so and I have heard that sunscreen is worse for you than not using sunscreen. I dont know. Dunno know what to believe. What do you all think? Sunscreen or no sunscreen? I guess I should do some research on this topic.
