The funniest moment that I've ever had during my period in LE (1988-99) was at our police firing range. As you may all know, in order to fulfill your duties as an officer, you MUST pass an annual firearms and shooting tests.
During one of our senerio training, we were given 2 paper perpetrators to shoot. They were placed just 3 feet in front of us, which means that when you extend your arm to fire they would be about a foot and a half in front of your gun. I was paired up with a female co-worker who always had a problem with qualifying with her firearm.
Well, I misunderstood the directions to shoot one guy once and the other one twice and ended up shooting one of them 3 times in the chest. One of the instructors walked over to me as another seemed to be whispering something to my disappointed looking female partner. My instructor says, "What the f*ck are you doing?"
"Nothing, didn't I shoot the guy?", I replied.
"Ummm, yeah but you were supposed to shoot both of them. Now the other one just shot you and your partner."
"Not really, Sarge. I'm sure she shot the other guy."
Then he tells me, "HELL NO, SHE MISSED EVERYTHING. NONE OF HER ROUNDS EVEN HIT THE TARGET."
I turned to my co-worker and asked, "What the hell I got you here for?"
