  • My day at supplement manufacturing plant

Yesterday, I Had 9 hours of the most amazing Evidence based nutrition education I have ever received. I took reams of notes and have all the power point slides. Will share whats pertinent and relative to the board as I review my notes and handouts. Honestly, we got so much information, that I hardly know where to start.lol Most important was the information on how to use nutrition and supplements to drastically decrease inflammation in the body and prevent disease. The Pro-inflammatory Western diet was discussed and what it does to people. We should all be eating 1-2 pounds of vegetation a day. Anyone who doesnt eat or take Ginger and turmeric should start ASAP, You can NOT eat too much. Get Fish oil, Mg, D3, clean out your diet of flour and sugar. Sugar is unbelievably bad for us. Way worse than anyone could imagine. Those are the main points from memory. Oh, reasonable amounts of sun every day is very important! D3 deficiency is an epidemic in America. I had to sit front row and being the only person there who looks like us who work out, I got kinda picked on thruout the day, so I just laughed it offlol..I so wish I had sat in the back row.

Part of the day was a tour of a large manufacturing plant for supplements. We had to put on lab coats and hair nets, lol. This company has been in bi9z since 1924 and because they also make pharmaceuticals and controlled substances, they are one of the few federally regulated supplement companies in the nation. The quality control and testing is beyond anything you ever imagined. Very impressive. She said the FDA pops in about every six weeks, and it is random unscheduled visits to inspect every square inch of the place.
They discussed how expiration dates work on supplements and that most supplements are still potent for years after the date. They keep samples of all supplements onsite forever and keep testing them over and over with gas chromatomography etc over the years to see how long they stay potent.
