    Got a question. My dad just called me and said his buddy has an sks for 200.00. Dad didn't know the caliber or anything like that, so I don't know much about it. He just said it was an sks with a short clip and not the big banana clip. Any issues with buying from an individual like that? I thought 200.00 was pretty cheap considering how everything is going but I haven't exactly done a lot of research about the different models and what not. Should I do it or should I shy away? As of now, I told him that I wanted it just to somewhat call "dibs" on it. What you think?

      I bought it. It's numbers matching Chinese norinco 7.62x39. Looks descent.

          No bayonet but with the replacements I'm looking at, bipod too, I don't want the bayonet anyway.

            back before the clinton ban those things were $75 brand new in the crate. now i have seen them for $400 at gun shows. i would say $300 is a good deal so you got a fantastic deal.

            you can buy magazine conversions to use 30 round mags. they are not as slick as changing AK mags but they still work fine.

              Has anyone noticed how high the prices are now on ARs and AKs? I would never pay those prices, but then I already have an AR. A guy I work with just ordered 2 DPMS ARs with some accessories for nearly $5,000. Can't imagine how much a higher end one would have cost. I'm not even checking the prices on them anymore after seeing the rip off prices on the average ones.

                Thats why I am going with striped receivers in other calibers.

                  Yeah, the duck bills? The problem is finding some. I've looked everywhere. There is a gun show coming to town in 2 weeks though.

                  You can still get them at a good price. I haven't heard of any for 5k, but I do have a place to buy a custom AR with all the bells and whistles for 15-1600...and that's custom built. I may pick one of these up at tax time...assuming I still can

                    You can buy a base AR and add to it. No skills whatsoever, its a modular system.

                      What's the cheapest you've seen a base ar for? I'm still interested in an ar now that I have the sks. It's like I've all of the sudden got gun mod fever...haha

                        Loaded striper clips are the hot set up on SKS. That was the original intent and it works.

                              I just pieced a rifle (5.56) together , separate lower and upper for $770. Ive purchased ARs from this place and they were good to deal with. It shows that they are out of stock but they will be shipping in the order they are received.
