If you want to get really pissed look at Gunbroker. $1600 homebuilt ARs. $900 stock AKs. $80 mags. Unless you have alot to sell then you will be very happy.
I have many of the above mentioned weapons already. I may buy a few receivers to keep on the back burner. Im thinking 6.8 and a .308 entry weapon (already have an AR10) and a milled AK receiver.

6.8 is great but ammo prices would have me go with the .308. more bang for your buck. also ammo is much cheaper and more prolific.

I've actually got a company that builds them and is still going strong with no price gouging. They are charging the same as they were. I'm actually wondering if I even want one now. Yeah, they would be fun to shoot (expensive now) but from a protection standpoint...I don't really need one. I'm thinking I'm just going to make my 870 tactical and just pick up some more pistols. If I run across one cheap, I may pick one up...but I don't think I'm going to run out and buy one.

Not a protection issue on the choice of weapons, but a decision based on my rights. MOAR guns!!!

for home protection they aren't very good. yeah i said it. that .30 cal bullet will go through the bad guy, your wall and KO your neighbors dog or worse.
best weapon for home protection is a shotgun. just the sound of the slide being racked will scare most burglars away and if not ..................
