You're hurtin' bro, you need a lil time to get your head straight and thats fine. but dont blow off your goals and well being, things will get worse if you dont take care of yourself right ? Your dads gonna need ya, and you cant go back to work all messed up ?

      Re: my motivation is dead

i went through it bro....lost my buisness, all our savings, couldnt find a job, my dad died, my father-in-law died.....it was a mutherfuker!!!! i went through short sprints where i didnt want to even get out of bed let alone pic up a fukin weight...then, there were periods that all i did was bust my ass to get the aggression out in the gym!!! it was hard to get it back going...in the end i had to deal wiht my own head...i had to find my way, ya know? for me, it all changed after a dream i had one night......after that, i pulled up my panty's and went after this job...and got it (fukin 6week interview process!! i wasnt giving up) and now i've been back in the gym steady for 3 months.... you just need to straighten your head out bro....the gym can be a place of theropy if you want it too

        Re: my motivation is dead

I just have to echo the 2 previous replies.
You just have to take a minute. Look at your whole situation from a 3rd person view, & eliminate the problems. "get your head straight." Then it's up-hill from there. forward motion.
I had another little break-thru, myself, just recently. And it really all boiled down to my just needing to take a minute to get my head straight. I had let myself slip. You'd think by, "slipping", that the problem would be easily detectable. But I had let myself become vulnerable to folks with bad intentions in an area that I thought I was doing the right thing.
Ultimately, I had to tighten-up. Put myself in check. I had to get my head straight.

I hope everything becomes crystal-clear to you, and you work thru the issues well.

              Re: my motivation is dead

Roofing in the summer wouldn't be ideal for me, by any means. I've never been able to take the heat that well. But, I always find myself out in it. I try to schedule my day to be inside during the hottest part of the day.
It is hard to train after bustin ass in that kinda heat. But, on the flip side. I've been asked, more than a few times, what/where/how long I go to the gym. Sometimes it might be a while since I've seen the inside of a gym, but working hard like that pays off in that way.
Having times that I lack motivation to go to the gym, I still try to conjure up a decent old-school home wrk-out. i.e. push-ups, dips, & I have a few dumbells, etc...
It's overcoming that motivation, or lack-of, that seems to be the most difficult to me.

all of those things are huge emotional blows that ironmen typically blow off and move on, and we end up getting stuck, and things drag on for ages, which sucks

my heads been like linda blairs in the exorcist for over 3 years, u'd think i know better based on lotsa stuff

so, it's normal for sure, at least you're aware of it early, that's pretty huge

                keep postin and good luck

This has been a good thread to read. Everyone contributed some great wisdom here. I couldnt say it any better myself. Its amazing, the people we have here on this board. Some have been to hell and back.
Man, I definitely have seen the darkside of life. It sucks. Times when just getting through the day was a living hell.
Hope things are looking up for you soon BG.

slow down the pace, take a long look at the source and eliminate it, get back the focus and drive forward! Times are tough, but we all can push through hard times if we take a minute to reflect on all that we have versus what we don't! Stay strong, we got your back!

Good thing to post here, Blue. People here are first rate and we call care about each other. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, and I pray God will give you the strength and wisdom to make it through. Life can be so hard...my girl is fighting cancer, and it's been a rough road. Sometimes working out has been my salvation, and other times it's been the furthest thing from my mind. But we gotta take care of the business of taking care of ourselves and our families. Nothing wrong with breathing easy for a minute and slowing down and getting a perspective. I take it you are a competitive BB, so I'm sure you knwo what to do and will get it done. Take care broh, and remember we all care about ya

PS: I like your name...reminds me of good times with my 'Ol man when I was a kid n' we'd catch blue gills out the wazoo and have a good time just fishin' and letting 'em go.

                      Peace,

Thanks brother. She's making progress every day. N' as far as the fishin' goes...my pops had a friend who had connections for a couple of well stocked private ponds, so we never had a hard time catching fish, lol. The bluegills n' sunnies got thrown back, we'd get a good supply of **** and catfish to keep, and still make it home in time to catch a Yankees game on the tube. Good times, indeed.

Now y'all have me feeling guilty about skipping out on some good days on the lake with pops brim fishin lately.

RW, we'd make great fishin buds. You could take every b@ss we caught. Gimme the 'brimmits'. Love those titty-brim.
