Oh yeah. I had a 98TA cam only, TH350 with a stall that would pull the wheels knee high and ran 6.80s in the 1/8 all night. LS1's are hard to beat for potential. With all of the pull out LS1s around now, they are really not that bad. The thing about them is you don't have to go big cubes to get it done. A friend in knoxville was running a 346 with a D1SC and got it in the 8s in the 1/4.

i run high 7s in the 1/8 with a cam and bolt on stock bottom end ls1 and a 4000 # car and its a 6 speed. a ***** to get out of the hole. with gears and slick and run the bottle probably low 7s. again that a 4000 # car

think if you stripped out a 3300# f-body and it was down to 2700# (maybe) that thing would fly. drop an easy second off the time

i do like fox body cars. and i know the OHC engines make good power but i have always wanted to build a stroker 5.0 liter pushrod V8

heavy duty motors and much lighter than the mod motors with their huge heavy heads

all this talk of fast cars makes me really want to mod out my 03 cobra more. it's 470 rear wheel now but im really gunning for 700's.

The new Shelby's have an option for 800 from factory.
