The Principal at my elementary school was a true SADIST. He would literally walk up and down the hall holding that big ass wooden paddle. There is no doubt that he got off on beating the hell out of little kids. If I ever saw him now, I would probably tell him to rot in hell.
For those of you that got the ass whoopin as a kid, you mean to tell me after that you NEVER ****ed up again? Kind of hard to believe, as is the reason I personally don't think that an ass whippin is the answer to everything.
Of course not, but I did a lot less than I would have knowing that I wouldn't be punished with a spanking. I mean if people only got a small ticket for DUI instead of jail time....do you think that would cause people to drink and drive less or more? And you are right, a whipping has it's place and time. It's not the right thing to do for every situation.
Honestly I think spanking kids is way over rated and probably causes more problems in a kid than it helps...once every blue moon for really bad stuff, but when a kid is gettting spanked all the time, that is just wrong. Beating a kid with a belt regularly is way too common and satisfies hidden sadistic impulses
I think spanking a kid all of the time is not right. When used appropriately and at the right time, it is not over rated IMO. I am not referring to "beating" a kid (I know you weren't referring to my situation). This is the first time he has been spanked in probably 4 or 5 years. But it had just come to this. We had tried everything and he still wasn't listening.
Look, kids don't care about timeouts. Talking to them will occasionally work. Sending them to their rooms is no good because they have a ton of stuff to do in their rooms. There is really nothing you can take away from them that REALLY hurts them enough to stop their behavior. And at this age, they just tell you what you want to hear anyway...and boy can they act. So, you just have to play every situation differently.

My grandma used to keep a switch on top of the refrigerator...she was the kindest person on earth but that switch was pure evil. I didnt get it very much, but when I did, I had welts for a couple days to remind me to never fuk up again
that brings back memories. My grandma would make me go outside and pick the switch she was going to wear me out with.

made me the man i am!!! did i EVER fuk up again...ofcourse...but not with everything. i took 50bucks out of my dads wallet...he busted my ass..i NEVER took money from him or my mom again!!! i called my dad a fukin drunk bastard, he knocked my front teeth out...i went back too "yes sir" and "no sir" and kept the rest of my teeth. i'm not trying to tell you how to parent, but i'm sure you know of ATLEAST one kid that probobly would have bennifitted by getting and asswhoopin!! my oldman was tuff. i respected him. without his guidence i would have been more of a punk, i'm sure!! i got rewards all the time too!! went hunting in mexico and canada. went to cancun a few times. if i needed 25 or 30 bucks i held out my hand and told the oldman i need some $ and he tookk care of me. i didnt get my ass kicked every 5minutes baby1...if i fuked up, i paid a price...and yea...i thaught about the decissions i made alot more than alot of kids do today!! and my kids are alot more careful of their decissions than there friends are... just an absolute fact. do they still get in trouble? yep...will i still bust their ass? yep....will they likely do it again or do "it" worse? nope

Don't get me wrong as I do believe an ass whoopin is warranted at times. I guess I just grew up with a Dad that had to look at us and we would run, lol! He may have been harder on my bother, I don't know. He sure put the fear in us though. Actually, if any of us would get in trouble we would dread having to go home.

One kid- calls his mom a **** , tells her to **** off and then she gives him 20 bux to get candy with friends- he and friends trash her apartment and trefuse to clean EVERY single time. I never interfere- but good god if that were my kid Id have killed him.

Yes- the kid is now 17, his dad dies when he was 6 of heroine overdose right in front of him. So the family repspond by bying and doing anything he asks for - 1000 dollar bday and xmas gifts that he breaks that day and they replace them. Now my girl cries to me why he disrespects her- she give him all her money- He says he shovels the snow off the driveway for 55 bux then she gives him the cash, only to find he lied. Quit school, refuses to work but he gets 20 bux daily from grandma and mom until they are broke WHY? so he wont scream , cry and punch holes in the wall. They come crying to me why? I tell them they have conditioned him to behave this way- So they need only look in the mirror for the answer. Ive known them for 8 years and have shared my ideas to fix but hey never listen. He was signed up for football but quit because he wanted to start as QB but refuses to practice. He quit school because he had to study- Im like do you see a pattern here- He dont want to work because he has had never to even make his bed. You dont give a 10 year old 10 bux to go get candy just to shut him up- Oh they say he dont listen! I show them what does he want- He wants money and rides to his friends - so rides and money are now tools to motivate- Of course they wont do that- So the child has learned to yell and cry for everything. He is now 17 hasnt gone to school for 2 years and gets money given to him for no reason. Both grandma and mother clean all his messes- The kid and friends come to house- eat all the food leave 20 plates and glasses all over the house and not only refuse to clean up or pick them up but yell and sware when asked- THey call mom the ,"c" word which I guess dont show up when I wrote in earlier. Can you imagine this?? Can you imagine. My girl lost apartment and moved in with MOm because she spent all her rent on cany and soda for her son- He pulls into MCDonalds and wants 30 dollars of food- Takes 2 bites of this 2 bite of that then throws away- Im like are you kidding me? then she buys him 20 bux at Dunkin DOnuts- Im like thats why you lose your housing, your vehicle and have no money. He finished what he askes for or he starves . Im not exageratting. SHe begs me not to interfere- One day he asked for 40 bux the day after he got 50 for lying about shovelling the driveway- She said no, so he pulled a tantrum - took his grandmas art project and smashed it on the kitchen floor and kicked a hole through front door and pulled it off the hinges- then she gave him a ride to his friends- I mean first I feel at this point hitting a kid god damm He would be dead If I were his dad- Dead as in not able to breathe and Im no violent man. He would have no car rides to his friends for long long time and he is a strong 17 year old boy who could walk to his friends in 20 minutes but they stop everything and drive him - Ive never seen such an example of disrespect. Ive helped set up therapy, family therapy, I got one of my psyche docs to section 12 the kid for a week in a locked adolescent psych ward but they wont follow through cuz it entails calling doc or police at every incident- This kid does this DAILY . So you can see why I dont live with them and may never - very sad.

He is close to being an adult, at least in age but sounds like he is about 3 years old. Lying to his mom about shoveling the driveway? Good Lord.Maybe he should join the army. That might be the only hope for him if he doesnt end up in jail. He is the kind that ends up robbing a bank or shoplifiting when his mom cant give him money anymore. Hopefully he will move on and you wont have to deal with that shit any more. Good luck with that situation bro.
welp....there's a kid that needed an asswhoopin!!! lol. whats funny is, if you hear my kids talk to their friends you'd think i spanked them nightly. "i'm not doing that...my dad will spank me" (i've heard my youngest say to his friends that are staying the night) my youngest, other than the little "NO!" with a love tap, terrible 2's kinda thing, i dont think i EVER really whipped his ass. my daughter....2 times ever!! i get alooooot of miles out of my asswhippings, lol....and my young one learns quicker!!
funny story...my oldest is my step son. we been together since he was 14 or 16months...me and his dad have become friends over the years...its a great situation as far as divorces go...we've all been on the same page. he's 21 now and married, but when he was 16 ( and about 6' tall) i came home early from work. i walked in the back door and i wasnt trying to be quite, but he must not have known i came home. his mom had told him to do something and as i walked in i hear "you cant make me do shyt....i'll do it when i fukin feel like it"...OMG!!! when i turned the corner into the living room, i must have had "i'm gonna kick the living shyt out of you" plastered on my face, becouse this kid dropped to the fukin floor in the fetal position and started balling his eyes out!!! i grabbed him by the foot and started dragging him to the front door...hes kicking and screaming and i'm in one gear...ass kicking gear...i'm at the mouth with the "aint no spanking for you anymore slim...its ass kicking time from here on out...you think you a man, i'm gonna beat your ass like a mna for talking to my wife that way" i'm trying to pull his skinny ass outside and hes got the death grip on the door jams screaming "NO, NO, I'M SORRY....IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN"...i give his leg one good fukin yank and his body flies up in the air, he looses grip and slams down on the front porch....i just looked at him lying there and i couldnt do it... but, i was pretty sure i made my point, so i told him "this is your 1...your 1 and fukin ONLY free pass!! i ever even HEAR that you MIGHT have talked to your mom like that, i will kick the living shyt out of you...you understand?"....that was it!! never again
