dude...i loved direct tv...i shyt you not!!! costomer service was excellent!! the rates where great!! the problem was, for us, that we couldnt get the internet service where we live at the time...we can now, but it cost alot more than cable....our cable SUCKS...i wish i could afford direct again!!HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

I have it and love it. I can never go back to cable. The day after the last hurricane here, I fired up my generator and was watching tv. Cable was down for 3 weeks.They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.Comment

I'm sure they've worked the bugs out now, but the examples where friends had it back around 2000-2003 made me shy of it. I like the sound to be with the show.(one guy I know watched his with about a 2second sound delay. He was used to it. I couldn't get used to something like that). And I don't enjoy a little strom affecting my television functionality.
Now, I here that's all history now. So, my input is just to see if folks with Direct TV will chime in with their success stories.

I have only had Directv, so I can't comment on the others. We don't have ATT available in our area yet or I would probably get that (since I work for ATT). I love Directv. I have noticed what Horsepwr was referring to, but it seems to be on a certain station rather than being a Directv issue. i wouldnt go with "DISH NETWORK"....they are loosing BIG chanels...i think they lost espn already and they lost fx and foxsports...they are about to loose fox network!!! i dont think they are gonna make it unless they get those channels re-signed FASTHE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

We have had Directtv for 7 years now because the cable co. were rapists,every once in a while they give us all the movie channels free for 3 months for being a loyal customer and I just had them come here and put in 3 new boxes and run a line to my daughters room for free!!Comment

i like the whole home dv-r. I can access the dv-r in the living room from any tv in the house. You can start watching a movie in the living room, and finish in the bedroom.They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.Comment

I have used Direct T.V. for 7 + years. Cabel company is hwy. robbery. I plan to buy another box and use it at my store. Funny thing you can do with Direct T.V. get a box for another room. Buy a dish and install it at hunting club, shop, business, etc. Hook new box up and you have Direct T.V. same way the r.v. guys do it. So for a few bucks more I will have Direct at my new business. Oh and DVR is the only way I watch T.V.Comment

If direct tv loses a signal every time the weather is bad then forget about it. dude...i live in the fukin woods!!! surrounded by 100yr old oaks that tower over my property....where snow falls nipple deep to an NBA player!!! and i lost signal 1 time in 5yrs!!! you NEVER had your cable go out? you cable company never went down for a couple hours EVER?? i went our and took the snow/ice off the dish....never happened again either....its not like 1998 anymore bro...the equipment is good shyt now...i'd do it in a minute if the internet part wasnt so much for my areaHE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!
