AROUND HERE WE HAVE COMMERCIALS SAYING IF YOU HAVE $10,000.00 OR MORE IN CREDIT CARD BILLS..YOU CAN CALL A NUMBER AND HAVE IT CUT IN HALF.

WELL HELL!! IF YOU HAVE $8000.00....DO YOU GO AHEAD AND SPEND IT UP TO $10,000 AND THEN CALL THEM TO GET IT CUT DOWN TO $5000

???

^^^ Those commercials are from debt settlement companies not actually the government and debt settlment companies are a rip off. I used to be a debt collector, well for about three months, the job sucked. Debt settlement companies can't do anything more or less than calling up yourself on your own debt nd trying to settle it on your own. The only difference is you are PAYING the debt settlment company to try to negotiate your debt down. Best bet is to do that on your own and not pay someone to do that.

I've seen those commercials that look governmentish.

But I hear what you're sayin 02. and I'm with ya all the way. The point you make is a good one. That's the world we're in today. That's the deal. Run it up. Spend it all. Let the government take care of that. with your money. Then tap everyone out, and we all live in government subsidized harmony.

its a biz...its not tax money. i think those commercials are VERY misleading. the bailout...i dont know...if i remember right, just about EVERYONE hear was whinning and crying about bailing out detroit auot....oh nooooooo....GM has already paid it all back....with intrest. i'd say that was money well spent

yeah, all GM did was pay that back with a separate pot of Federal tax dollars. GM just did the 2 step money shuffle with more tax dollars. A different pot of bailout dollars. from one pot to the other. And that dude's walking across the tv on the commercial like he's Iacocca.
