Just purchased a house in KS and the phucking idiot who owned it previously broke the chimney flue and didn't replace/repair it. Now I'm stuck with a gapping hole in my house where all the damn heat flows out... what a complete nimrod! Home ownership is expensive - especially, when you purchase from a complete dillhole!

lol...welcome to ownership!! just do what everyone else is doing and give it back to the bank!!
actually, it shouldnt be too expensive to get that fixed. good luck with it. every house we baught had some kind of surprise with it....this house was fine, but it was slapped to gether at the end. but we could see what we were getting
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!
your inspection should have caught that, do you have a copy of it
Yeah, I'm looking it up right now... I'm so sick of spending money on this house. Yesterday, I take the filter out of the furnance for replacement - go all the way to Home Depot to purchase a replacement, bring it home and it's the wrong f-ing size! How'd I do that I wonder - am I a complete retard - NO! The idiot who lived here previously, put the wrong size (smaller) in the furnace. What a complete knob!
2 things- if the previous owner knew it was broke- it should have been listed in the sellers disclosure and if he knowingly didn't lust it- you can sue him
2- like the others said, the inspectors job is to catch that and he is liable as well.
I'm sure you can get it paid for without any moneys out of your pocket. Call your realestate agent and tell them and ask why it wasn't in the disclosure
