    Re: Sleeping pills. Seroquel. Sucks!

I wouldn't feel bad about the roofies IPL. I don't know what the side effects are, but I remember them knocking me out.lol..And same with GHB dzone. Both of the4se drugs got demonized by people that do some pretty evil shyt because of that (knock-out) benefit. They actually sold the real deal GHB in powder form in GNC for a while. I['m talking before Renutrient, Blue Nitro, any of that. That stuff came after GHB was scheduled. post '96. Gammahydroxybutyrate is a natural occuring chemical produced for the central nervous system. That's why it feels so good when it kicks in from inside out. You can feel it through your whole body. But true GHB is still used in severe cases of insomnia like narcolepsy. Real pharmecuetical GHB is absolutely non-toxic. It will harm the body in no shape, for, or fasion. But, that nasty tag "date rape drug" makes it sound like the worst thing to ever come across. Everytime I hear that, it pisses me off. What pisses me off are all the worthless, sick bastards that couldn't get laid if even having millions of dollars, so they resort to dumping a couple caps of G in their date's drink, then..."oh she's had too much. I better get her home"...sick piece of shyt. But anyway...GHB I know is not unhealthy. Yes it can cause people to do things they would never do if they stay awake instead of going to bed as it's intended, but so does Ambien. Heck even xanax can make people "black-out"...(do things they don't recall while awake). G just takes the (crazy shyt you did) stories to another level.lol...But, ghb: non-toxic. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone though. It can be some crazy stuff, and there is a fine line between enough and too much. It's very much the "little-dab'll-do-ya".

Oh, and if I'm not mistaking, it was a chemist of medicine, which was also a bodybuilder, that realized the health benefits of GHB. in the mid 70s. GHB does indeed boost your test prodution through the roof within minutes of ingestion. But that wasn't the only reason for it. The bodybuilding chemist that recognized it, recognized it for it's fat-burning, and muscle hardening benefits during sleep after administration. and that's why GHB came about. You're supposed to dose just before bed for those benefits.

With all that said. I was a true test subject, I guess you could say.lol...and after so long of useage, I developed a dependancy on it for sleep. I had to sleep with it on my night-stand for everytime I woke up through the night. Which was about every 2hrs on the dot. That got rough, and there was a withdrawal for about 24hrs when I realized it was time to sever our relationship. And the only withdrawal symptoms were my skin feeling wierd, almost sensitive to the wind blowing even. I oculd feel every tiny hair on my arms, and I felt a little off-kilter. And that makes sense, the skin sensations, it being a naturally produced chemical for the nervous system. And all-in-all...I still refer to it as wicked stuff. Except for those few folks that can maintain complete control with it.

      Re: Sleeping pills. Seroquel. Sucks!

      Hey Dzone!

Long time no talk, I have been so flippin busy, I dont know if I am coming or going lately. I started my new job 3 weeks ago, and hardly have time to get online anymore.

But.....today I am taking some time for me, and catching up on my internet time!

Anyways, I am the queen of insomnia, so I thought I would share what I have taken.

I started NOT sleeping about 2 1/2 years ago. It was the craziest thing, I literally went from being a really good sleeper (8 hours straight) to around 2 -3 hours max. OMG, I dont even know how I functioned at that time.
I went for a few months like that, trying every over the counter thing I could try.

I tried the Tylenol PM, I tried Melatonin, Valerian, Sleepy time tea, natural sleep aids, NOTHING helped me.

Well 2 months of this, I ended up falling down my stairs and breaking my foot, for I was so damn tired.

I finally decided it was time to try some prescription meds. I tried Ambien and Lunesta, and neither did ANYTHING for me, nothing......... I felt like I was the only person in the world who couldnt sleep on these drugs!

They gave me Seroquel as well, and it did nothing for me. I only took it a few nights, and stopped after I saw no results.

They then prescribed Restoril, which finally was the pill that worked for me! I have now been on that pill for over 2 years. Thing is, I take the pill, and I am able to fall asleep within 20-30 minutes max. I still wake up about 2 hours into falling asleep (usually to go to the bathroom) but on a good night, I fall right back asleep......and if my mind isnt racing too much, I can usually sleep a total of 7 hours a night (tho usually never straight, but still).

I would have thought I would be immuned to that pill by now, and maybe I am , maybe its a mental thing. But all I know is, if I DONT take that pill, I dont sleep.

I also have a prescription for Ativan, which is an anxiety pill. I am a VERY anxious person, and after my Dad passed away I was not in a good way, so they gave me this pill to help with my anxiety.

So , if I wake up during the night and I am really anxious, either mind racing, or anxious about not sleeping, I take 1/2 an ativan, and it usually calms me down and gets me back to sleep.

Anyways.......I would suggest talking to your doctor and trying something else. as far as expense, I get the generic version of Restoril, and I only pay $4.00 for 60 pills!!!! The ativan is $7.00 for 30 pills, not pricey at all. (and yes AMbien is expensive, tho they have a generic for that too).

But, try something else, there has to be something out there that works for you!

Good luck and sorry this was so long

        Re: Sleeping pills. Seroquel. Sucks!

Gosh Ropie, thank you so much. Great information. Sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died in 03 and he was such a source of stability for our entire family. Now we carry on as we hope would make him proud of what he gave to us.

Hope the new job is turnin g out well!

I had 25 mg seroquel tabs that did nothing. Then I got a bunch of the 200 mgs tabs and bam. I was out like a lite. They even have 400 mg tabs which would be way overkill. OMG.

Great to see you back and being a part of this great board. We all appreciate your contributions and you have been missed around here for sure. Thanks again for the helpful information. Keep us posted on how things are going for you.

LOL did nothing!! This is so bad, but a few years back out of desperation I have a Dr. I visit in Mexico on one of the borders, who has always aken good care of me with antibiotics and such, so I went to him for help with my insomnia, he gave me a months worth of this pills, I wasn't sure what they were as I had to bring them back across in a plastic bag hid, cause you need an american script or was told this. Well I got home took one of the pills I was at my computer sitting at the desk, One of my girl friends had gone down with me, and didn't want to drive home so stayed the night, well she was watching TV and all at once heard a huge thud! Well it was my head hitting the desk, because the pill knocked me OUT~!! Well She got me to my bed, or so she says I don't remember, bur I slept like a little baby for the first time in years!! So I took them for a while longer. I was at the gym training with a couple that are my very good friends who are police sergents. We were talking and he asked what it was, I told him I wasn't sure, he kept asking me to bring him one of the pills so he could look at it. Well I made another trip down before I got one to him, but I kept part of the package with the name on it. I didn't really pay attention to it or know what it was. Well I ook it to the gym he looked at it and screamed Damnit I knew it!! Quit taking this sh!! These are Ruffies!! The date rape drug! I said but I can sleep!! then he told me all the dang side effects, and I flushed those babies down the toilet. But I have to say it was the best sleep I had in many years!! Felt so good, but was so BAD~!!
Moral of the story, I always ask before I take now, I don't trust my Mexico Doc!!

I got ripped on the shit and then headed to California. lol...It was hard for me and some of my friends to withdraw off it. Oh, another thing is that it was a serious aphrodisiac.

oh yeah. It was an instant aphrodisiac. You could find something sexy about every chick in sight about 15 minutes after a dose. Not to mention that semi it gave ya right when it kicked in.lol...And those effects are attributed to the sky-high boost of testosterone coursing through your body when it kicked in.

                        Re: Sleeping pills. Seroquel. Sucks!

I use melatonin and valium, but i will be going off the valium and doing ativan in the future. My prob was and still is not getting to sleep, but waking in the middle of the nite and getting back to sleep. Of course i tried all the OTC products before resorting to script drugs. If you remember the old brand of Tavist-D?? I used to use it and I would be out for as long as i could and be in a deep sleep. I could literally sleep for 10hrs or more on it, but as typical they changed an ingrediant in it and so it doesnt work the same It is originally for sinus, but it had something in it that put me out like no other OTC. Wish they still made it like that.

Yep, I understand what you mean Michelle. Whats the reason to switch from valuim to ativan? Does the valium not work or does it have sides? The seroquel was giving good sleep, just didnt feel right for some reason. I still have some and take it once in a while...I have lately taken lorazipam...I get a bit nervous about if I have side effects, would I even notice them? I got some tryptophan which is working pretty good and try to keep the lorazipam to a minimum...Of course Im up right now, but its by choice..lol

Im up to haha and im in LA! I like valium, but it is hard to get off. I did it once cold turkey and had insomnia for over a wk, so you have to wean yourself off it, if you choose to go on something else. Other than that, i get to sleep on it well, but i still get up sometimes and loose an hr just trying to get back to sleep. that is y im gonna try out the Ativan I think it is 2mg per tab. The valium i take is 10mg and i only take it b4 bed. Ive tried 5-HTP and it helps, but you have to get a good brand. I take the 5mcg melatonin. I think u can get a time release one. Try to get a good stress management book or umeditation at a book store. That can help too if you it is a psychological issue and not a physical one. Sex can help greatly i found...I know i have sex on the brain haha! 0x
