You are right, it is a nice bike. the Heritage is also a very sweet bike. There is nothing out there that sounds better than a harley.

          Re: heritage softail classic

I ain't feeling any of the current colors for that bike, maybe one of the paintsets that they offer other than stock.
I understand why someone would not like anything to do with H-D, it goes back to when Willie G bought back the name from AMF and even though they were putting out a inferior machine the mainline bikers still bought them. Fast foward a few years and H-D is making a good comeback and suddenly the price goes up and H-D is catering to RUB's , then they start going after all the aftermarket parts manufacters and threatening lawsuits to anyone that uses their name or any of the model names.
I will agree that the quality of their motorcycles has gone up greatly in the last decade, but they have so many models and parts are not interchangeable from from bike to bike on the same frame style.
The only water cooled bike they have is the V Rod and the H-D snobs don't consider this a real Harley.
I think you should consider what kind of riding you plan on doing,i.e. short runs or more longer runs and some real long distance before I would spend the money on a bike. The soft tail models look good and sit a little lower to the ground, but if your putting lots of miles at a time they can cause some serious back discomfort.
And lastly I agree about all the so called bikers now days, I get tired of everyone that takes the bikes out only when the weather is great and wave at me. I don't see them the rest of the year when its cold or raining. And am getting to the point of violence the next time some ****er whose got 5K on his 5 year old bike giving me advice on anything to do with riding. I don't care if they make something that cleans whitewalls, if you don't like my dirty whitewalls don't look at them, if you was riding instead of cleaning you too could put 40K+ ayear on your bike. i agree..custom productions are better bikes then harley, but therresale on them sucks..one thing about harleys, is they hold value good

                      Re: heritage softail classic

well I looked at reviews and after hunting down leads for 6 months on Fatboys I finally found a guy who wanted a driveway and had a Suzuki Boulevard for sale in his yard.
Sweet looking bike and when he fired it up ....I was sold.
Got about 3500.00 in it when the deal was done as I had fronted money to my crews for the holidays and they were repaying me for the favor with some donated labor.
concrete was a dollar a square foot and we knocked it out in a day and a half not counting one man going back and stripping the forms and sawing two joints the next day.
Dude was asking 8500.00 for it...
I have been wanting a bike for 20 years and it just happened along and I felt like why not...I need to live a little and have some fun before I die.
check out the pics on here...
