If somebody is outspoken about their Christianity, then I am going to hold them to a higher standard. If they dont reflect the Golden Rule in all areas of their life, then they need to shut up and stop telling others that they need to go to church. I am soooo sick and tired of people speaking out about Jesus and living in a w ay that Jesus would not advocate.

I have an employee who wears her Christianity on her sleeve. She plays keyboard in the church band and is always telling me I need to go to church. Yet, she is the biggest ****in backstabber and gossip I have ever known and she uses people and takes advantage of people(yes, Im looking to replace her because Im sick of her bad mouthing EVERYBODY).

My experience has been that at one time I was in a bible college and taught bible study once a week. There is no book on earth that I have ever studied more intensely than the bible. So its not like I dont know what it says about how to treat people. Some Christians I know are very judgemental toward me because Im not out doing street ministry type stuff anymore and I keep my stuff to my self. Used to be that I wouldnt date a girl or hire someone unless they were Christian. Now, I hate to say it, but Ive become very cautious about them.

Im sorry to hurt anyones feelings, but Ive had too many outspoken "Christians" turn out to be total hypocrites. One guy I know is a minister and married and he hits on every hot chick he sees. he was counseling this one really hot chick. he would call her and tell her he ws praying fo r her. I asked him 'If she was fat and ugly, would you be counseling her like you are?" he said 'Probably not"...

oh well. Like I said, the Golden Rule is in the Bible, but I guess some of these people forgot to read that part.

thats why i wont go to church too much hypocrisy

i get a laugh when i get flipped off on the road by sombody with a jesus fish or a WWJD bumper sticker. or telling the youth in the church drinking is bad then chugging a 12 pack after church watching the game.

i dont hold them to a higher standard i just look at em like they dont practice what they preach and they loose credibility and make good christians look bad.

if you choose to live the life then live it without excuses. but dont be a two faced *****.

You go tthat right! But if they are going to be outspoken or have a fish on their car, then HELL YES THEY ARE GOING TO BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD!!!...If I hear them backstabbing, then Im going to think they are a fukin hypocrite. I would probably feel a little ddifferent had I not had experience living as a Christian missionary at one time, so I know what the christian walk is all about. Nobosdy is perfect, but dont sit there and say "Oh, Praise the Lord' while the whole time youre thinking who You can scam! Sad, real sad. I used to only do business with Christian companies because I assumed they were trustworthy. WRONG. Now when I see a business with a fish , Im thinking they are using Jesus to make a buck. Bad experiences give us wisdom.

Ok- you have made very valid points and I agree for the most part. If you have been to Bible college maybe you should point her to some scripture about gossip and then see what happens. Remember that there was but one to walk the face of this earth that was sinnless and that was Jesus! We are all works in progress, but you shouldn't allow a person from keeping you from entering in to what the Lord has for you. Remember its God you seek not the person who worships him. You need to focus on Him and Him alone

                    thanks Deep.

maybe I wasnt clear. Im voicing my frustration with organized religon and people using it to manipulate and control others. Youre assuming that Im not focusing on God and that Im letting people keep me from God. Not sure how you have come to that conclusion about me.

Lets not forget that Jesus was very outspoken against all forms of hypocricy. Even being physically angry at one point.

I never put that on you Bro and please don't take it that way. I see people all the time try and force this issue down peoples throats and that just drives them away. Its sad they just don't try working on themselve to be more like Jesus and love others rather than trying to judge and point fingers. I just don't want anyone to let these types of people from hindering their walk with the Lord. Now as far as organized Religion- I don't agree with it, but thats another subject all together. I apologize if I took your postout of context.

Its ok deep. I respect you and I appreciate your posts. Its great for all of us on here to be able to take part in these kinds of discussions. I definitely dont want to spend my time in fault finding and I hope it didnt appear that I was. Life is always better when we spend our time looking for the good in others. we can always find something to like in just about anybody, if we spend our time doing so. In some way, in starting this thread, Im trying to find justification for getting rid of this employee for her behavior. knowing that Im going to have to put an ad in the paper, interview people, Train a new employee, etc etc. A little pain now in order to divest myself of someone who is a negative element. Its been disturbing to witness her asassinate the character of innocent people in my office all under the facade of being "christian". I have found her comments to be outright hateful. Many times I have just stopped her and asked "are you judging him?" of course self righteous people never can see themselves as judgemental.

Some of my frustration is with my brother who I used to witness to when we were in high school. how ironic that now he's a sunday school teacher who has become so self righteous that i cant be around him anymore. he sits in wait fo me to say something wrong so he can ram his religion down my throat. My nephews ,who I love, he wont allow around me anymore because I once said the tv show jack ass was funny. he called me the next day and reemed me for watching a tv show that Jesus wouldnt want me watching. uh huh. He went ballistic on me one timefor attending the john elway clebrity golf tournament, with a vip pass, instead of going to his church to hear his pastor preach. lmao

elway always trumps a boring ass sermon in my book.

never got anything but sleepy while listening to some preacher drone on. now golf with a football great! now that seems worth getting up early on a sunday to do

                            Re: CHRISTIANS

I knew there was something about you dzone.
I can't stand religion either. And it's because of all the religious people. You damn right they should be held to a higher standard. If they stand on their pedestal and let everyone know about their Christianity, then they should be the easiest, most delightful person to get along with. For some reason, that's just not what you get with the bible thumpers across the lands, usually. I didn't study the book, but I've read it. I've read some of it a few times just to make sure I was correct. I had no problem understanding it. I've heard verses twisted by folks to meaning things like, "God despises make-up on females." just crazy shyt.

But, short story long. I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago. The bride and groom claim to be Christians. They're in church when the doors are open, they coordinate events at one of the biggest churches here. (well used to, and I'm sure that she'll be working there again when they move back)...(just got a call that they're moving back yesterday). but anyway, I was his best man. These two self rightious christians wouldn't let the groom's brother attend the wedding becuase of an argument that took place over a year ago. And I mean a stupid little spat caused this. The groom almost didn't let his own mother attend the wedding, which she was one of the brides maids. She walked with me because there was no maid-of-honor. The bride has 2 sisters, and neither are mature enough to just concede and say "please, you be it..."(little speech why, blah blah, and that be that.-maid of-honor. But, they're too immature for something so simple. Same as the Groom with his brother and sister 2 days before the wedding, poor girl cryed her eyes out. Now these are 2 devout Christians going into lifelong union, and couldn't "forgive" & forget. Cindy, the grooms mother, told me that James, the groom, wanted an apology first. I don't even get into that kinda petty stupid shyt, but when he told his own mother she wasn't in the wedding a couple months ago, I had to have a talk with him.

Now his new wife was what really brought him to religion. He was already alright with God, and obviously, a better man. Now, that she's got him in those church doors everyday they can be. He's changed, and not for the better. She, Hope, the new wife that's so high and mighty on her religious trip, couldn't be farther from right.

I got 3 important things from that book that if everyone practiced, we'd all get along better. 1. Care for your neighbor. (try to help everybody, anybody, anytime you can)<--that one ya gotta be careful with what you think help really is sometimes. 2. Forgive & forget. Just as you are. 3. Believe in God. Whoever, whatever, and however G O D is.???

I know I try not to hurt anyone. I try to help all I can, and I know that we didn't just rise from the "muck". And I watch people hurt, harm, and cause harm, but I've notice dzone that you are a bright, good person, and truly understand how to live happy. Cause with hate in your heart, and with whatever it is that gets the many "christians" going on a rant. That's gotta be a difficult way to wake up, and fall asleep. It's gotta be exhausting. Just be happy and watch things unravel. I could go on about those people. I know, I have hateful genes. My father's mother was a hateful bytch. I make sure, or try to at least, never display any nasty or mean trait. I don't ever feel it. Sure I loose my temper once in a blue moon, but I despise hateful, conniving, backstabbing, hypocrytical people. amoung other negative characters and characteristics.

God love 'em, cause it's hard to.

Dzone- I feel your pain Bro. In some way I wish I had and answer or avenue for you to travel, but unfortuantely I don't. There are so many Scripture I could quote to say to people like these, but they wouldn't listen anyway. All I can tell you is the Bible say to Love them- it never says you must like them. All I can suggest is to Pray for them, Pray that God reveals the error of their ways and restores the Love in there hearts for Him and their Neighbors. I always tell people this it can never be said at a better time(actually my Pastor said it, but it fits so good)-"Don't judge God by the people that worship him- Man will always let you down, but God will NEVER forsake you".

HP- this passage of scripture deals with what you two posted. I ask you please take the time to read:
                              James 2: 14-26
                              By Dr. Richard J. Krejcir

Do Faith and Works Go Together?

General idea: Real, impacting, effectual faith will have results. It will be lived out! Faith is received alone, but it does not just stand alone; it is to be shown. Faith will be backed up by the proof that it is present in a person. If there is no proof, there is a good chance that the vessel is empty of faith. If the label says “coke,” and when you open it and pour it in a glass, all that comes out is “chicken feathers,” you may come to the conclusion that the label and contents do not measure up to each other. The same case is with faith. Faith is given and received by Christ’s work of grace alone. James’ point is not that salvation requires works, an effort to receive it or even to cement it; rather, real faith will result in an outcome that backs it up. Faith will be lived out in the believer’s life, thinking, words, and actions. Faith will create initiative from the realization of who we are in Christ, and then we will live out our lives in Him, through His power and because of our convictions.
