    Re: who takes aderall

I was put on Aderall in college. It will help with concentration but I hated the side effects. I was unable to sleep even when I took only 20 mgs in the morning. It supressed my appetite to the point where I had to make myself eat (obviously not good when youre trying to get a high number of calories). Worst of all it made me into a zombie. All of the side effects combined, sleeplessness and not eating enough, would all work together to completely zap me of natural energy. I would ask your doctor to try Strattera firtst. It is not a stimulant and doesn't have nearly the adverse side effects.

    FYI:
Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant composed of four amphetamine salts: amphetamine aspartate, amphetamine sulfate, dextroamphetamine saccharate, and dextroamphetamine sulfate (the last salt is also prescribed alone as DexedrineŽ). Adderall is a stimulant and appetite suppressant. It stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain) by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the body. This increases heart rate and blood pressure and decreases appetite, among other effects.

While the exact mechanism is unknown, it is believed that Adderall works by blocking the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine into the presynaptic neuron and increasing their release from the presynaptic neuron into the extraneuronal space. In other words, Adderall reverses the reuptake mechanism, turning it into a pump instead of a vacuum. The result is an increased flow of dopamine and norepinephrine into the extraneuronal space, which causes the brain to experience a more intense level of concentration. This allows for the ability to focus for extended periods of time.

Adderall is habit forming. Physical and psychological dependence may occur with the use of this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use

Putting all jokes aside, I agree with you on this. I don't think Fuzo needs this at all! He has no problem with staying focused and being a bit high strung sometimes is just his nature. I stay throw them in the garbage!

With that being said, if I have something that I have to accomplish with a dead line I will still take one aderall to help me focus on that task. That happens about twice a year though since I hate the side effects so much.

          Re: who takes aderall

My opinion......I'm against it. My son was told he needed to be put on it when he was five. First it was Ritalin then adderall. I didn't think he needed it at all and to tell you the truth, there was no change. He was taking 10mg a day. (only when he took it.) Honestly I think it just an easy way out (for kids) and alot of them don't need it. He wasn't even hyper.
Staying focused in school was their excuse for him to take it. It's a long story. But if are able to stay focused but a little high strung (who isn't?) You don't need it!

THATS YOUR PERSONALITY - YOUR JUST WIDE OPEN ABOUT LIFE IN GENERAL. YOU DONT HAVE A PROBLEM AT ALL

I WOULDNT TAKE THEM, THEN YOU WOULDNT BE YOURSELF AND THEN FOLKS WOULD ASK "WHATS WRONG WITH FUZO?"

I would agree with the concensus. DO NOT TAKE THEM. I took them through out my first two years of college for studying and school, not recreationally. FOR ME the were very addictive. Made me feel good, although a little jittery, I would guess probally similiar to meth, or some other stimulant. I dropped them altogether and had some serious cravings for them over the next 6 months. Havn't touched them since and I think that they are the phuckin devil. Although this is just my personal opinion, it is all I have to offer. Everyone is different.

Yeah, just go to the high school for your drugs... KIDDING!
I really think if an MD wanted to prescribe adderall, there might be a reason for doing so. Give it a shot and then give us monday morning qaurterbacks a reason why or why not?

Regardless of whether you need it or not sleeplessness and loss of appetite is still a side effect. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and they wanted to put me on Ritalin. After only a week my mom saw the adverse reactions and took me off.

There are some that need marijuana for medicinal purposes but whether you need it or not a side effect is it gets you high.

There are many doctors that prescibe something for anything. Why the hell after 40 years would Fuzo need to take this? I probably know him better than anyone and I say he does not need it, I don't need a degree for that.

I personally don't like to take meds unless I absolutely have to. There are other ways to deal with things beside popping pills.

Doctors sometimes really piss me off. Remember, they are "practicing medicine", they don't know everything.
