Meth use can give results from paranoia to expanded confidence.

        Re: 18yr old niece

We just went through all of this with my step-daughter. She was smoking pot. My husband and his parents have just been staying on her about it. I would have been stricter. We've all been really worried about her until a couple of weeks ago.

Turns out that her best friend... they have been friends since elementary school, well, they were fighting, and she wasn't speaking to her for about a month. We figured it was just another one of those girl fights. The next thing we know is that her friend was arrest for possession.

Her father found out that she was using drugs. He followed her to find out where she was buying it from. Then he started harassing this guy at a house where he suspects that she's buying. They take out a restraining order on the father... I'm still not sure about all the details but it got pretty ugly at this point. The father cuts off her money. She give the dealer her ATM/Debit card. The bank turns him in for fraud/theft, because he started trying to take money out of her account. There was no money in it. The bank didn't know his name. The just have a description. The father digs around her room and finds out the dealers name and I'm guessing that's how he learn she was doing Meth. Some how during all this she get arrested for possession. I think the father turned her in. I know when she called him to get her out of jail, he let her stay there for several days before he got her out.

They give her a plea bargain because it's her first offense. She tells them everything... the guys name and where to find him. They bust into this hotel room where he is making and selling Meth. He's there with this girl who over dosed and is dead.

Now the friend is in rehab. My step-daughter said the reason she wasn't talking to her friend was because she told her that she wasn't going to hang around her as long as she was doing Meth. She was trying to get her to stop. We asked why she didn't tell someone, and she said that she didn't want to be a snitch. We explained to her that some times it's ok to be a snitch... especially when it come to life or death situations.

It's been rough... ya'll wonder why I don't have kids

if the mom refuses to believe her daughter could do it then she won't cut off the funds either. a loved one needs to intervene.
You may not recognize your mom when you get home, I shaved her back.

Fuzo and Baby there is some great advice here. This could definitely be meth or heroin. I have close friends that have gone down this road and either will suck the life out of a person.

The two of you HAVE to take it upon yourselves to be as involved as you possibly can if your sister is not willling to take the necessary steps or chooses not to believe it.

My sister is naive and non-confrontational so when my nephew went through the same stuff as your neice I stepped in. My sister faught me at first on it but just like you my instincts are very good and I know the warining signs. My nephew now lives with us and is an honor-roll student. Most times it just takes someone being interested in them.

Good luck guys. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers!
