Re: christianity was plagerized...stolen
I've read a "Case for Christ"; a christian gave it to me in the attempt to save me from the hell she believed in. It's the same old arguments marketed as "logic" because an irrational atheist wrote it. The book helped me solidify my position as an atheist - if Christianity's best attempt at converting those committed to logic (atheists) is with an ivy league "atheist" who is supporting his new found faith with circular logic, I knew I was on the right path.

Jonathan Kirsch's book, "Kink David" definitely changed my view of the old testament. It also re-introduced some long held skepticism with Judaism upon which Christianity is based.
I consider myself a Christian, but I am not convinced that Christianity is infallible, and I definitely do not believe it is taught and practiced in perfection.
I always appreciate your viewpoint Klash, so no disrespect.....All religions require a leap of faith bundled with an experience that seems supernatural. But it has always seemed to me a greater leap of faith to believe in the absence of God. The complexity of what exists from the physical to the emotional exceeds what I can accept as unguided evolution.
I believe that science is the understanding of the creator's logic.
Cheers

Like everyone else, I like to speculate of human origins and the origins of the universe but speculation should remain that and not graduate to a belief simply because we don't have enough information.

read your bible and you'll find out.
free choice from a loving God...unfortunately, some will choose not to believe and follow His word, angels will cry in Heaven when this happens. the easy path is wide and straight but the difficult path is narrow and difficult.
when you are in the Word daily, things become sooo much clearer. I cannot tell you guys how many times during a typical week that situations come up when it is blatantly obvious God is at work in my life. there are so many examples of "coincidences" that happen whereby the only explanation is God is at work. in every case, the situation works to my and my family's advantage. It is when I try to take over that things get messed up.
"the case for Christ" is a good book, ive read it too. but, in the past few years i have really read only my bible as a reference for God's instruction, and it is what i recommend to others as it is the divinely inspired word of God.
as far as the gross intolerance of Christianity on this board, this really is nothing. i guess about 2 years ago, i was in a semi-tactful debate with klash, i think it was, about this topic--i think it was about that kids' movie written by the atheist, anyway, the images posted by some atheists on this board were absolutely despicable, several stated how they really could not wait until Christians were silenced forever, nice things like that. I complained to the mods and I actually left for a long while as i felt this was really not a good place for me to be.
I can see that the slamming continues... this thread started out as a complete hit-job, but he chilled out towards the end..hopefully things will not get as bad as they used to be here.
But, as i said then, i'll say now.. whenever someone slams me for what I say and believe, i am thankful and happy, because people did the same things to my Savior..-----+++DrugFree4Life+++-----
