did anybody see 60 minutes last night? what do You think of the thousands of Iraqis who helped the USA as interpreters, etc and now they are being executed and tortured and we are not helping them at all. They are trying to get out and come to america. One guy went home and found his dogs head on his porch with a note saying "Youre next". he went to the americans to ask for help and was told "Sorry, we cant help you" What a disaster this war has been.
I think history will view Bush as slow-to-adapt and stubborn. He did the right thing going into Afghanistan and he did the correct thing striking Iraq but he failed to adapt fast enough to the enemy. He lost the will of the people, any possible legacy and possibly the war. If we retreat from Iraq and Iran absorbs part of it, we might have to go back and that will be partly do to his initial failures.
His stubborness and failure in Iraq gave leverage to the Democrats and Bush bowed to their demands and so he is a failure domestically too by not limiting government but growing its scope and size.
I think a couple hundred years from now, societies will look back on this time and things like the "patriot act" will be made fun of, along with the "new deal" but the presidents that will go down in history as the catalyst for throwing America in to statism will be Franklin Roosevelt (FDR) and maybe Woodrow Wilson; (in a couple hundred years) Bush will only be remembered and referred to because he was in office during 9/11. America and the world wants to forget about Bush as fast as possible and given the next president won't be much better/or any better - they will.
We live in very intense times and until the populous figures out we have got to start combating problems with logic - nothing is going to change but the name of the guys in congress and the white house.
seriously disagree. It will be how history is written not how we perceive right now. Ever read a history book from another country? If you have you know what I mean. What we know about history can be controlled and usually centers around military issues as more time elapses.
he won't be listed as the best thats for sure but we truely have had worse but put it in perspective of fighting terrorism and I think he actually will have a place in the history books for his aggression after 9.11
well...i guess your right. i guess it also depends on WHO writes the history books. i'll remember him as a terrible manager with a poor choice in players on his team....still dont think any history books will be able to paint him in a very good light.

Bro, I don't support the slogan or the idea of the "war on terror" but I still believe that the U.S. should wage war against specific terrorist organizations who declare war against the U.S. or attack us. I also think if a nation makes an agreement with us to disarm and they don't and/or can't provide evidence of that disarmament then they should experience a military assualt. Neither one of those positions require a support for a general "war on terror".
