I haven't ordered one up yet. I went with a slash-cut GP style slip-on because I hadn't found that mid-pipe yet. But you won't be able to see the mid pipe unless you bend down and look up in there for it. You won't see it like you can the back of the cat. You'll only be able to see about a 1inch section of mid-pipe, then your slip-on will be connected at that point. That mid-pipe is a great alternative to a full system. It sounds awesome even with the factory can because you get rid of that cat which does 90% of your silencing and also kills horsepower. Not to mention the weight of that thing. So if I had it to do again, I would've bought the mid pipe and put my stock muffler back on until I got a slip-on. Which does sound and perform awesome and that little factory titanium can doesn't look that bad anyway. There are people buying these stock slip-ons for exhaust conversions on older R6's because they love the look and quality of it. But if you want a killer sound and have the money to throw down on a slip on as well. A Two Brothers with that mid pipe is righteous.

Do you just have a straight mid-pipe from header to slip-on Fuzo? or does it still have the catalytic converter?

Re: got my first bike today so happy

yeah, see, that's the sweet part about the gixxers. When you get a slip on for a GSXR, your cat is eliminated. With the '06-'08 R6, you have to either get a full system or one of the mid-pipes listed above to eliminate the cat or it's basically like wasting money putting a slip on behind a cat. No weight or power difference, and hardly any difference in sound. Thank goodness for the mid-pipe though because then the power and sound is unleashed. And you get to actually hear the Two Brothers tunes.

Re: got my first bike today so happy

Here's my little hack job. I did this job right where the bike is sitting, in the den/playroom/office/garage, at night wearing dark ass sunglasses instead of clear safety glasses because I was in too big of a hurry to slow down and look for the clear ones. And, had no idea that it would turn out so clean with what I was working with, or I would've took a little more time to make it a clean job, but I can polish it up whenever I get around to it...which will probably be never. It looks cleaner than the $80 kit that this dude had that rode with me last night.

Re: got my first bike today so happy

And from the rear. I should've brought the tag up an eighth of an inch, but I was concerned about getting it right on the paint and the vibration, after a while, would start to cut into the paint...if it touched... but I got an eighth to go up and still have just a gnats ass clearance. For reference; gnats ass= 1/64 to 1/32, lol...
I'm trying to decide what turn signals I want to go with, so right now it's hand signals when needed, which is perfectly legal. I had no blinkers on my last bike, but I'm riding this one more so I want signals...and bright ones at that. I found some that are super bright for the rear that mount clean behind the tag that I'm probably going to go with.

There was no sticker below the plate. I get rid of most of those (WARNING) and (premium fuel only) stickers that they slap all over it. I just leave the one with the Vin# up by the neck of the frame. And I thought about leaving enough room, or fabricatiing mounting brackets out of some stainless steel to mount the stock blinkers, but I chose otherwise. I figured I might get satisfied with that and not get some better looking blinkers,lol..

That is super easy to do. Just unscrew the bolts under the tail. And there's a certain way to unfasten the plastic fasteners. Just push the center pin in slightly with something pointy,(ink pen, whatever...) then pull them out. When you're ready to put them back in, just pull the pin out of the middle of the pastic fasteners and push the outer ring of the fastener into the hole, being careful to make sure the little flanges are all in so you don't break one off. Then once in place, push the center pin back into the fastener. You'll be able to feel it snap into place.
It's a very clean look without the rear pegs. I took them off my last bike for a minute, and after a couple days, I decided to put them back on just incase of a drop. And sure nuff, about a week after I put them back on, I got into some gravel making a turn at night and slid it a few feet. Thank goodness for rear pegs and frame sliders. The rear pegs will save the tail. It does look bad ass without the rear pegs, but they're just one more thing that gives me peace of mind when I'm cutting it up.
