Re: Who likes soccer (football) here ???

Let's not start to dissrespect anyones sport now. Soccer does require the most skill and is the most difficult sport to play IMHO. Running for 45 mins straight is very challenging. Did you know an average soccer player runs close to 10 miles every soccer match. Did you know that every match every soccer player is in danger of dieing ?? Seriously, the heart takes a big stress during a match. Its a constant running.

Now look at players like Ronaldinho, Christiano Ronaldo or Zinedine Zidane. Look at the beauty of their foot work. It takes years and years to master what they know.

Take a look at the World Cup. Every nation in the world follows that event. Even us, Americans. World Cup is bigger than World Series, Superbowl, NBA etc.. it's bigger than the Olimpics. I know you guys think it's stupid because 1 or more goals are scored. It doesn't always end up like that. I watched matches than ended up in 5-0, 8-4, this and that...or even 0-0...

Baseball is not a boring sport. American Football is not a boring sport. Let's all enjoy them in different terms.,

Ya the Euro's are being held this year in Austria/Swiz...can't wait...i like the euro's way better than the world cup to tell ya the truth. I went with my buddies when it was in portugal and it was absolutely amazing!! I am going again this year to see a few of Polands games in Aaustria..should be a great time...not to mention Poland vs Germany in the opening round...WOW...can you say intense or what! I watched poland play germany in the last world cup that was held in germany and there were so many riots like you couldn;t believe. Hooliganism is soo huge there in europe its not even funny. People die after soccer games cus it gets so intense!

^^ Hooliganism and racism needs to stop in Europe. Esp. Spain hating on black people. It's very pathetic if you ask me. And Euro is a lot harder than World Cup, did you know that :P ??

I'm cheering for Croatia, France and Italy. I hope Materazzi gets some german suplex on the pitch...hate that mothafocker...with a passion

Yup, Im sure if I grew up playing/watching soccer, I would be a fanatic. Most of us grew up on american sports, so naturally we will think soccer sucks. No doubt thos e dudes are amazing athletes and they have to be in superb condition to do that like they do. Is soccer the worlds #1 sport as far as numbers? I suppose it is.

I played when I was younger but transitioned to football in junior high and then football, wrestling and track in HS. My son is five and plays. But, as for the professional level, I'm just not into it. The game is much more interesting when you are playing or know someone who is. At least, that's my opinion. But, I have a lot of respect for the athletes because those guys will go 90 minutes straight and that's just amazing to me. It's like running wind sprints for 90 minutes for some players. The stamina those guys have is crazy. It's one thing to jog for 90 minutes, it's whole other thing to have to continually run at full speed on and off for that long. Even with a break, that's some serious stamina IMO.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

Hooliganism isn't as bad on the international level as it is in the league level. Hooligans have a lot of pride for there clubs that they support, unlike any other fan. It used to be really really bad in England many many years ago, but eastern europe has put them to shame...lol...more hardcore you can say. I know in poland, depending which city you are in, hooliganism isn;t as bad. I know in Warsawa the city is split in two, and has 2 seperate teams..which is very very bad. They even use knives. But in other cities its more calmn and what they do is they pre plan a fight between the two clubs in some forrest/secluded area, with the same amount of people on each side and just simply fist fight...then come game time, no fights whats so ever. So these are people who take the game and there team very seriously. Its somthing like no other to see.

The chanting and flares that go along with watching a game is like no other! Not sure how many people here have been to a real european futball game, but its an experience worth watching...eevryone knows every chant, and when they will start the chants...its just great. Kinda funny when I see an NHL hockey game on tv and there chanting "ole ole"...whats up with that?? haha

I also wish that UEFA/FIFA would seriously consider punishing those that dive and flop all the time. It's ruining the game.

                      Its crap
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.
