Re: Could Jesus have been married?

Well, this dude is so **** judgemental that he once told me "Mother Teresa is NOT a christian because catholics are NOT christian and all Catholics are going to hell." I just talked to him on the phone and he told me that Catholics did NOT select the books of the bible and all catholics are going to hell because they believe you have to work your way to salvation. He says salvation is a free gift from God and if you think otherwise then you are going to burn in hell..LOL...the worst part is this guy has a huge following that take his word as gospel truth on EVERYTHING...wtf is up with people????

No need. It's obvious he is very uneducated, yet very judgmental. It's a FACT, The Scriptures used by the Jews at the time of Christ were adopted by the Church and became what is known as the Old Testament. The books of the New Testament were not finalized until the fourth century by Catholic Councils and Catholic popes.

And they take it as absolute LAW. That's fine for them. I like to have an open mind on things. If there's 27 books in the new testament, there could have really been 200 found by the Catholic church. How about the other 173? And now with the dead sea scrolls, keep and opn mind that there could be 176 unpublished books. And the Book of Mary Magdeline and Book of Judas could be two. Why is it so hard to believe that Judas JUST MIGHT NOT have been a traitor? Why is it hard to believe that Judas may have been asked by Jesus to betray him, to set the whole crucifixion in motion? Because it's been written in the Bible for many centuries that Judas was a traitor? Maybe the Vatican had another book that was destroyed that also was written that Jesus asked Judas to betray him. Now, that would make 2 books in Judas' favor. Just what if?? Think of the possibilities. We are taking a book that was put together by a bunch of mere mortal men, who back in the day, despised everything non christian. The vatican just changed it stance on Mary Magdeline several years ago, to officially announce she wasn't a prostitute.
uh...i dont know ANY catholics that are like you discribe. not one that i know takes the bible as "ABSOLUTE law". my grandma and granpa was off the boat irish, church every sunday, ash wed., no-meat, the whole bit, and they didnt even take it as absolute. i was always taught that it was the message NOT the word that was important. you got ahold of a bunch of catholic wannabe christians i think. (and dont jump on me about the christian comment, calm down, you know what i mean...jeez)

Nothing would be wrong with it, just doubt that it happened. Like I said before if he were truely God and truely man with a very unique agenda then I just don't see where marriage would fit in. It just doesn't make sense to me. Not sayin it's impossible by any means but I doubt it.
