Re: gay rights in the workplace

bottom line is that in most cases being gay is NOT a choice!!! and people need to stop taking the " holy" book so literally...i dont know...maybe the world is only 6000 years old and carbon dating means nothing at all...lol...some people may choose to have gay experiences but when my brother was 6 years old myself and my older brother knew that he would be gay...they are born that way and thats all there is to it...why would someone choose to be gay in highschool only to be harrassed and come home crying everyday because some bigotted closed minded uneducated" i only think what im told to think" type of people are out there? some gays are very strong people because they have to deal with everything we do plus some....

i agree fuzo...the solution to that is....let them get married...who are we as a people and a government to interfere with the civil liberties of an idividual? by not allowing them to get married its not going to make them straight..a union between two loving people is just that..a union between 2 loving people...there are HUGE and i mean HUGE problems with our country that are far more important than this issue...and for those who say its a sin a the bible says that a union is between a man and a woman...well...there is supposed to be a seperation between church and state...you cannot bring the church into governing policies....

I totally agree. If peoples argument's for/against particular issues are based on religious doctrine; it should carry no weight when it comes to legislation.

Re: gay rights in the workplace

politics without a moral and ethical base of decision making will inevitably lead to chaos. The postings of several in this thread indicate that there is (thankfully), indeed, a small percentage of individuals in this country that believe that "anything should go" as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. Well, I for one, will go with what our founding fathers based our country on--Judeo-Christian values. I know many will argue this point, but, you know it is true. Further, no one responded to my point that civil liberties have NOTHING to do with behaviors. Child molesters cannot "help it"; Kleptomania is a defined mental disorder--should we allow these people to steal, and even if being gay is some genetic anomaly (and I do NOT classify gays with pedophiles, for the record), homosexual activity is a behavior. Thusly, it should not be covered under civil liberties.

Klash, I am suprised at you..to lump the entire Catholic church in with what a percentage of homosexual/pedophile priests did is reprehensible. Look at all the good the Catholic Church has done through the years. The hospitals, the charities, the millions that have been lead to God.
Can you not see that this evil behavior is an attempt by the enemy to lead people AWAY from the church? We should be supporting the church and helping it recover, not by publicly condemning the whole of the Catholic church. I expected more from you. These deviant priests made an evil CHOICE to ruin these kids' lives, just as others who make bad choices...and we all do. none of us are above blame. But these choices we make should and do have consequences. Drug abuse (wrong) leads to disease and death; stealing (wrong) leads to jail; murder (wrong) leads to jail-- would we all not agree that some behaviors are wrong, even if they "feel good"??..Now, as for "judging" as I am sure will be hurled my way next; I will judge behaviors...we are called to judge behaviors. We are to LOVE the person and despise the BEHAVIOR. All you "tolerant" people that rant and rave at me when I post my statements here, have I ever said that I did not like the person or thought homosexual people are bad, have bad hearts? no, I said I did not like the behaviors. I pray for those who have done wrong..myself included, many times..LOL..and I will always try and point people in the right direction when given the opportunity to voice my opinion--as on this board.
I am a tolerant person, but to a point. When groups wish to condemn the beliefs that I have, and the beliefs this country was founded on, thats where we draw the line, else we as a country change into something else. It has been said that a democracy will only survive if the people have a moral and ethical base. Without morals and ethics--defined by the Bible, the yardstick by which these must be measured..which, last time I checked was still the general consensus of this country (75% do NOT want gay marriage)..not defined by the most deviant and loudest screaming groups..
