  • Waterboarding - Torture?

When I think of torture, I don't think of something you would willingly do to yourself. IMO, these protesters are providing a demonstration, of waterboarding, that proves it is not torture; or they are proving the word torture has lost all meaning. One of the two.

If you are a cowardly scumbag that hides behind women and children, one that will not wear a unifrom and your only desire is to kill US soldiers by hiding and shooting them or by blowing yourself up along with as many civilians and US troops you can take with you, then IMO the geneva conventions do not apply to you and you get what you get when we catch your sorry self. Libs, take your best shot.

"Libs take your best shot" define a liberal bro technically youre a liberal..How are you a christian when you support the use of torture for revenge ? Torture in U.S's name should not be used under any circumstance..Its proven that it does not work and just leads to false information, not to mention the morality issues..We are supposed to represent ourselves in a different light then tourture would bring, if we tourture we are no better then some of the radicals we are facing.

With the terrorists who like PL said aren't a part of any organized military organization or fighting for a country but rather an ideology, I say fukk the Geneva Convention. Torture those pieces of **** in any way that you can come up with.

First off, Klash makes a great point. Waterboarding is not torture. Second, our interrogation techniques have indeed proven to get valuable and accurate information. Last, call me what you will, but if someone were to mess with my daughter, I could torture the sob for days..and I mean torture. These terrorist kill and hurt people...mothers, fathers...sons, daughters. Not because their threatened or in defense. They just kill and hurt to instill fear and cause suffering because they are fuked up. I don't have compassion for 'em

That's why we don't torture. That's also why our interrogation has gained us accurate information that's led us to top Al-Qaeda opperatives.

solidground...it's a mindset like yours that puts our country at risk..you gonna vote for Hillary or Barack? You probably want a timeline for withdrawal from iraq? Get them boys outta there, right? Is Bush a war criminal? Ill bet you think that by invading iraq, we are less safe, made more terrorists, right????
Read the geneva convention dude. These are the rules. We do not kill people with torture, we cause discomfort, fear, yes. Do you believe the USA is a good country? The people we capture are BAD. We are on the side of GOOD. We want to protect ourselves. We play by the rules.

do you read my posts. im republican/libertarian..and sorry but youre simplistic theory of only good and evil is off who decides whats good and evil...youre obviously not reading my posts. The USA is great but heading in the wrong direction. The people are what makes us thrive and successful as a country, and if there is an eminent threat that can jeopordize our greatness im all for doing what it takes..Iraq was and is no threat to us.

So, we use these enhanced techniques on high-level suspects that ARE believed to have information that could harm the USA. These are hardened terrorists that have been trained in resisting interrogation, vowed to kill as many men, women, and children as they can while they are killing themselves. You cannot have it both ways. Either you grab these thugs by the nape of the neck and shake it out of them, scare them so badly they never want to mess with us again, or else you reap what you sow with this pacifist talk. As I said, these thugs are not covered under the geneva conventions. the world knows this. Our men and women in uniform are not cutting heads off on the internet. They are not intentionally killing civilians, as these thugs target civilians. I am glad we are in iraq. President Bush is doing the right thing. As you know, the right thing is often the most difficult and unpopular thing. After 9/11 my President and Vice President said "the gloves are coming off", and he did it. The path of least resistance is just that--what we are doing is not the path of least resistance. Al Queada did not understand who they were messing with when they picked a fight with the USA. Bottom line, if youre a coward that wears no uniform, wants to kill innocent civilians on the internet, rape, murder, and kidnap all for the insane cause of bringing down "the great satan"--the islamofascists' term for israel and the usa...you deserve what you get if we find you in your spider hole and drag you out. Now, if as in WW2, we were fighting a nationality with a standing army, per the geneva conventions, I would agree with you. The islamofascists are lucky, IMO, that Bush didnt pull a tactical nuke out of the quiver after 9/11. I believe our response has been very measured and restrained compared to what could have happened in the aftermath of 9/11.

Yeah but these suspects don't have a right to face their accusers or the evidence against them. They are exactly that, suspects. Lets say someone steals your identity and starts doing a lot of treasonous activity that could be interpreted as terrorism; now your a suspect - that phucking sucks!

coming from a man that is supposed to abide by the geneva conventions i say they are a damn joke....when youre fighting a guerilla war you need to use the same tactics...if youre fighting against a country that doesnt follow the same rules of war why should you...to make yourself look good?...eff that!!people have become to sensitive politicaly correct...war is war...people die..innocent and guilty alike...and if you have to torture a few to save many then so be it!!!!!!
