you got to go shotgun, a pump for that matter, the sound of driving that shell in will make anyone piss their pants! You can pick up a mossberg or something similar in a 12 gauge at Big 5 for around 200 bones.

Another great reason to go with a shotgun is they are easy to secure to keep your little ones from ever getting a hold of it in a usable manner. Plus nothing beats a shotgun for its low maintenance appeal too.

i have a beretta 40 cal but its kinda pricey. I think the glock is a good gun for the money but if you want a cheap gun then a taurus or a ruger are like 2-300 i think. They will still put a hole in that ars..

If it was me, I would go with the shot gun for sure. You only have to aim in the vacinity of the intruder and you will get them. With a pistol and in the heat of the moment you will be very surprised at how fast you can squeeze through 15 rounds. And....if you miss you have to go hand to hand. But, with a shot gun, you can aim a few feet behind the dude and you will still do damage to him. By far the best way to go. Plus, as soon as they here you load that cartridge, they will high tail it out anyways. A shot gun has a very distinct sound when being loaded to fire. No one will stick around for that. Of course, if money is the issue, then the best thing would be an ADT alarm system. As soon as it goes off the fuker will take off running. That will keep you from having to kill anyone. That's the best bet is you ask me.

A guy sneaking into your house is wired,..andenaline just pumping through his veins...maby been up for days all spun on tweek. you're gonna want to drop his ass quick ! a lil round like a 9mm isn't gonna do it unless youre a crack shot and "double tap'em",..in the dark being all pumped yourself. I hit a guy with a .357 laoded with dum dums at probally 12ft and he kept comming,...so a .45 is a nice choice because in this larger caliber you cause "hydrostatic shock" no matter where you hit'em. as for a real home defence weapon..? the Mossberg 590 Persuader is my top pick fer sure, the safety and slide lock is right there and natural in battle compared to the Remington, which is in front of the trigger guard. it's a tough weapon and a killer buy for around $400. not that you will, but with 9 rounds of 00 buck you could literally blow someone into chunks without being a marksman. thing is it's a baracade weapon, not something you're going to be able move to well through tight halls, doorways, etc. rack a shell and the tweek is gonna bail outta there quick ! it's up to you, is 4 or 500 bucks worth your safety ? spend more than that on tires.

if your single go with a 12 ga but married and want the wife to be able to shoot than do the 20ga they have ALOT less kick and not as heavy in weight!

If you want a cheap and reliable handgun, get a chinese norinco, which are clone of other pistol, either sig sauer, smiths etc..

you can get a M1911 45acp for 300$ canadian or so.

most police departments wont let them shoot 9mm, because a guy wound up on crank will not be stopped by a 9mm unless it is ded on...not enough knock down power...go with a 40,45, or best a shotgun
