Just got back from the hospital. Thankfully, this isn't a pic of my leg. My buddy was over my house today helping me move some stuff. We were moving a large 100lb antique mirror I have (or Had) into the truck. He trips, falls, and the mirror shatters, ripping his leg open to the freakin bone!!! He got 25 staples!!

Beings he almost passed out from the intense pain, I would say "yes"! I offered to wrap my shirt oround it to keep it closed and stop the bleeding. But he was worried about lint and germs getting inside. I told him to stop being a ***** and let me wrap it up. They're going to clean it at the hospital anyways. So I wasted my nice white Dave Matthews Band shirt on wrapping it up. But it helped!

ok...I'll share mine...

about 2 months ago 8-year-old boy...cut the back of the calf climbing down off the dock I cried more than he did....but it healed beautifully

I will take some pictures of a scar that I have on my leg. Its VERY faded now so the picture might not come out well, but when I was younger I had a sharp jagged length of pipe go into my leg above the ankle, ride my shin bone, sever the tibials and pop out right below my knee. I know...nice!

Those injuries don't look too too bad to me. Wait until you sever a tibialis and call me back LOL. It was over 100 stitches just on the inside. I had lost so much blood that they couldn't put me out to put it back together and I had so much tissue damage that they couldn't use any silacane (SP?) because they couldn't afford to kill any more tissue. It was fan friggin tastic LOL.

MCK- that's a big ol' gash right there. How did the scar heal up? I'm wondering if since he is younger if growing up will help deminish the scar. I had some as kids that went away over the years but that one looks pretty bad.

It was a clean cut....we assume he cut it on the barnacles on the dock because it was such a clean cut. He hardly even cried....but we sedated him for extensive cleansing and suturing.

Scar is pink/purplish and well healed....applying Mederma has helped also. He tans very easily, but its still visible. I'm sure once he gets older and he grows, in addition to growing hair on his legs it wont be as visible.

I've seen a nice size gash to the shin with a chain saw....but you might take the cake gbagh
