They didn't lose any money, technically. That **** is damn near free for them to grow. I'm sure their farmers aren't making ****. Now they did technically lose the "chance" to make money but it's not like they really lost anything other than a shipment.

What about the dude who paid for it? I'm sure they didn't ship that much on good faith. I bet someone, somewhere is out big time. But, the manufacturers, no, they didn't loose much at all.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

I doubt there was a middle man. That was top of the food chain there. Who buys that much coke? Not anyone that was straight from who ever is numero uno would be my guess. Just like in BLOW, the transporters are usually hired or paid a fee by the say the Columbians to transport it. Not sure if this is the Columbian here but they don't middle man it.
A good movie to see, way better than blow. "Cocaine Cowboys" That would explain it better, an actual documentary type film on what happened in Miami and how the city was literally built on coke money. For instance one year, forgot which one, the average Federal Reserve Bank brought in a surplus of 4 million dollars. The Federal Reserve bank in Miami brought in about 50 million and on average, through out the whole 80's that same bank processed 10X more money than any other federal resereve bank and I'm sure it wasn't by chance.

Yeah, that's true. I guess you just never know but it would make more sense that way.

About 16 years ago, I would have been crying hysterically at the thought of 40,000 lbs of cocaine being destroyed. At the time, I probably could have polished that off in a month
