my buddy came back with PTS and was documented with it, was never treated and was sent back over there. He and a group of marines shot an innocent guy and are being charged for the crime. he should have never been over there in the first place...Its all messed up imo

I agree with you Fuzo. The government should do much, much more for the vets. We spend billions of dollars on this war to rebuid a country that we don't even live in, shouldn't we shell out billions of dollars if needed to help those that served. VA homes are worthless from everything I have heard. It is better than nothing but I think the soldiers deserve much more.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington

        Re: THE V.A

My bro, the one I mentioned in another thread about seeing all the rough stuff, was allowed two visits of counsiling by the military. Anything more than two visits goes on their permanant record. He's opted to take an offer of 6 months pay and leave early. Look, I've never had to actually shot someone or been shot at, but I would be willing to be it takes a lot more than two visits of counciling to get over that stuff.

There was a lady who came back and the military did the same to her and she ended up intentionally driving the wrong way on the interstate and killed herself and another car of people. In her suicide letter she wrote that if the military would have done for her as she did for them, she would not have done what she was going to do. She intentionally killed herself and others by driving the wrong way on the interstate. WTF? You would think that the military would have learned their lesson by now about PTS. Good God, how many wars have we fought? That whole 'be a man' crap doesn't work for everyone. Not everyone can just kill with no emotion, most of those people are in prision, and for a good reason, they aren't sane. It's sad, very sad, that the military would ask you to risk your life and then not care to help you get back to normal.

I DONT THINK PEOPLE REALIZE WHAT SOLDIERS GO THROUGH. THE TRAUMA OF WAR IS REAL AND HARD TO DEAL WITH SOMETIMES

You know Merc this is one thing that pisses me off. There should be no way for our guys in a war to be charged with a crime. I dont care if they kill the whole village. Our government is a piece of shet. No way I would ever join the service.

they can care less about individual soldiers..they wont even pay for better protection etc. The only time our govt uses our tax $ to benefit soldiers is if a private company is inlvolved..It's sad..Not too smart either, with all the wars were gonna start you would think our govt would hook up our soldiers. In addition our soldiers hospitals are absolutely awful, been all over the news how neglectful they are.

Man, we've had vets here at the nursing home that have told us all sorts of stuff about VA hospitals and VA homes. These guys laid it all on the line and get treated like ****. It's very sad.

I couldnt agree more I hope they let all the marines off for what happened over there. If they need to tell the public that they were punished then go ahead and do that but these guys have gone through hell to serve a country and deserve the whole country to back them up.

they call it fighting for our freedom but its fighting for the government. Us being in Iraq is not going to keep us free? We are growing less free all the time with these damn presidents and laws. The USA aint what she use to be fellas.
